Significance of the study

This study would be beneficial to the following entities:

Parents. This study helped them to guide their children to establish daily

routines, monitor out of school activities assuring structured time and set attainable goals.

Also offer encouragement by expressing interest in progress.

HUMSS Students. Students with having interest in science would be able

increase their cognitive potential of a student for achievement in the science field.

Teachers. The result of the study provided them with ideas that can help them

developing student’s skills in science.

Future Researchers. Future researchers may use the result in this study in order

to investigate for their findings regarding the student-teacher relationship and other

information on HUMSS students of CJC in Science interest.


Scope and Limitations

The main focus of the study was the student-Teacher relationship and the interest

of SHS Students in Science. This study only for Senior High School HUMSS Students

who are enrolled in the S.Y. 2023-2024 in a Catholic educational institution in Digos

City, Davao del Sur. The study was conducted during the participants free time through

face-to face survey.

Definition of Terms

In order to further understand the content of the study, the following terms are defined

conceptually and optionally.

Student-Teacher Relationship – Refers to the interaction between a student and a

teacher in a classroom with the content that is before them.

Science Interest – Reflects the cognitive potential of a student for achievement in the

science field.

Teaching Acceleration – refers to a wide variety of educational and instructional

strategies that educators use to advance the learning progress of students who are

struggling academically or who have fallen behind—i.e., strategies that help these

students catch up to their peers, perform at an expected level for their age and grade, or

meet required learning standards.

HUMSS Student – concentrates on the study of human behavior and the changes that

happen in society. It also involves the analysis of human interactions in the fields of

literature, arts, culture, and even politics.
