Lesson 6

Justice, Rights and Fairness

Brain and Heart Drill No.1
Think and share an instance in your life where either you experienced or you have witnessed injustice,
unfair practice/s and violation of one’s rights. What did you feel? In the situations that you
experienced or witnessed what for you could have been done?
When we play football, there are instances when we are not treated fairly because of how our team has
occasionally been, therefore I believe those are the times in my life that I have encountered unfairness or
unjust procedures.

Title of the Video/Reference: Justice & Fairness Promoting the Common Good | Ethics
Link/Source/Reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dr3odf5T0eAv
MY NOTES:

 John Rawls is the author who published Theory of Justice in 1971 which
address the problem of distributive justice.
 Justice means, giving each person what he or she deserve.
 Fairness means, treating people equally.

Task 3: After viewing or referring to the video/link, complete the ff: phrases:
I think that: the only thing that will enable us to be decent citizens is justice and fairness, which must
constantly be a part of our daily lives.

I feel that: achieving justice and fairness in one's life is not simple. Because some people do not treat
other people fairly, many things do not have justice.

I have to: Teach the youth or anyone else that it is more important to have justice and equality
because this is the only thing that can fix ourselves at a time when we are the only ones who will
work together.
