Reflective Writing of Videos

After watching two videos in the non-judgement mode suggested by the program, I
have captured some of the life’s aspects which are really comprehend and powerful.
The first video namely, if we could see inside other’s heart, teaches me that everyone
has their own complications and ways in life. While most of us think that we are the
only one whom are struggling, there are many people out there who are fighting on
their own to live and to see the light. In the video, it shows an imaginary moment
that we can once look inside and understand others’ thoughts. If everything can be
seen and understand like in the footage, the author asked if life would be different
when such thing happened. To my idea, people will begin to understand more with
one and another. The concept of the video is to show that if each of us can see
through others’ problems, we may treat them differently and reasonably since we
can actually feel what they are feeling at those moments. The second video is another
delightful scenario which shows the life of a young teen exploring the meaning of
life. While we thought that our life is our own, the video explained that the nature
only lends it to human for temporary. The author further stated that the human will
be in debt if they further live without being grateful of the nature. Furthermore, to
understand the meaning of how ungrateful of life can be, the teen boy went to Ganga
River in India. There, we can understand that the cycle of life which can be inferred
that to avoid the endless suffering, one should do the good deeds and live with
consciousness.

Reflective Writing of Workshop

On January 27th 2019, I have attended the soft skill lecture which is held at Mahidol
University. The lecture is stressing on transformative learning skills namely, self-
discovery. During the session, I have discovered a lot of simple things that matter to
my self-growth and academic life. I have been asked some questions which I never
ever thought of and which took me quite long to be able to answer even it is just
about me. First of all, I have come to realize that passion is not a thing if we don’t
put commitment and hard work to move it from imagination to aspiration. Second,
we often forget who we are and think that following others’ footstep will make you
become content and prosperous. Despite of learning and discovering ourselves, we
often judge the information that we get and ignore the fact. In the lecture, there was
a quote by Alvin Toffler stated that the illiterate of the 21st century will not be those
who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn. From
this quote, I understand that to be able to get the true intention and meaning behind
certain idea or perspective, one must listen with non-judgement reflection.
Moreover, I have learnt from the lecture that to be able to grow and learn new thing,
one must not trap self in the past by expecting and doing the same thing. We must
be able to adapt and change the way of thinking with new facts and experiences from
people or places. We shouldn’t live to blame any faults on any particular things or
people, despite, we should learn and improve by putting action to get the right result.
In the lecture, there was one quote that attracts my attention the most which is “I
have not failed, I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” –Thomas Alva
Edison. To sum up, I have learnt few of the main concepts from the lecture such as
learning to listen without judgement, being grateful of what you have, improving
your knowledge with accepting new facts, and putting every effort to make your
passion alive.
