Q: Create a file to demonstrate the use of layers, groups.

Use of layers

1. To use a layer in the drawing, you must first make the layer active by clicking the
layer name in the Object manager Docker.
2. The layer name appears in a red bold font to indicate that it is the active layer.
3. When you start a drawing, the default layer (Layer 1) is the active layer.

Use of groups.

1. Select the objects


2. Click Object Group Group objects.
3. The status bar indicates that a group of objects is selected.
4. You can select objects from different layers and group them; however, after objects are
grouped, they reside on the same layer and are stacked on top of one another.
5. You can create a nested group by selecting two or more groups of objects and clicking
Object Group Group objects.
6. You can also group objects by dragging an object in the Object manager Docker over
another object. If the Object manager docker is not open, click Window Dockers
Object manager.
7. You can also group objects by clicking the Group button on the property bar.

Q: Create a photo frame in CorelDraw.

Steps:
1. SELECT rectangle tool and draw two rectangles in portrait format one in other.
2. Zoom the screen and select the circle tool using select tool.
3. Draw the circles (design) on both sides of frame.
4. Select the bucket fill tool and fill the respective colours.
5. Import the image in frame .

Steps:-
1. Import an image of shapes chart.
2. Select the crop tool and crop the desired shapes 3. Layering the shapes.

Q: Create a QR Code in CorelDraw.

Steps:
1. Press Object > Insert QR code.
2. Within the docker Object properties, select one of the below-mentioned options from
the list box of QR code type: Plain text: It enables us to add plain text (unformatted).
3. Double-click on QR code.
4. Inside the docker Object properties, click on Validate.

Q: Create a flower in CorelDraw with gradient.

Steps:-
1. Gradient fills are added with the Interactive Fill tool, which is located at the bottom of
the Toolbox, and can be activated with the G shortcut.
2. If we select the Fountain Fill option, the fill will automatically change from a solid fill
to a gradient fill. By default, the gradient proceeds linearly, from the full uniform fill
color at the left to white on the right.

Q : Create a visiting card for yourself in CorelDraw. (size=3.5 x 2 inch., color coding:
CMYK)

Steps:
Start by creating a new document in CorelDRAW by going to File > New or Ctrl + N. In the
New Document window:
1. Name your document and choose CMYK or RGB color mode.
2. If you intend to print on the back of the card, change the Number of pages to 2.
3. In the Page Size dropdown list, choose Business Card – unless you have custom
requirements for a different size or format.
4. Select your orientation and keep the resolution at 300 dpi.
5. Start formatting using text ,colour filling tools.

Q: Create a border design in CorelDraw.

Steps:-
1. SELECT rectangle tool and draw two rectangles in one in other create a rectangular frame..
2. Zoom the screen and select the spiral tool using select tool.
3. Draw the Spiral (design) on sides of frame.
4. Select the bucket fill tool and fill the colour.
5. Import the image in frame .

Steps:
1. Select common shape tools .
2. Draw the respective shapes.
3. Colour the shapes using colour filling tool.

Q: Trace an image of some cartoon character in CorelDraw. (Do not use Quick
Trace feature of CorelDraw)

Steps:-
1. Import an image of cartoon character.
2. Right click on the image select outline trace select line art .
3. Power trace box is opened click ok.
4. Now double click on image and drag it on right side.

Q: Create a banner for a college event in CorelDraw. (Size: A3, Color Code:

Steps:
1. SELECT rectangle tool and draw two rectangles one in other create a rectangular
frame.
2. Zoom the screen and select the star tool using select tool.
3. Import respective images like college logo, dance images.
4. Write the information about the event using text tool.
5. Design and format according to your requirement .
