The DPR for Hanuman Mandir with Park needs to be understood through tangible and
intangible aspect where tangible aspect deals with measurement of physical aspect of the site,
recording the existing site features of site. Intangible aspect here means the religious
importance of site which is unique identity of this site. So, to understand this aspect, the
methodology was carried in different parts.
The Detailed topographical survey with the triangulation method was carried out to identify
the area of the site, topography and physical conditions of the site including electrical lines,
approach roads, river/ streams, buildings and other structures within the premises of the
proposed land fill site.
All survey works were carried out using the national grid points and national datum points
established by the Department of Survey. This ensures the topographical maps to be in same
projection system as the maps produced by the Department of Survey including the grid sheet
based cadastral maps.
Permanent Benchmarks were established at different points and monuments using the Colour
marked with sufficient photographs and presented in D-card. Baseline Stations are
established as per the visibility conditions with their coordinate. The levels and coordinates of
the benchmarks and the baseline stations were established using precise two face reading
using precision Total Station.
Figure 2: Methodology
The topography of site is flat as it lies in the Terai part of Nepal and irregular in shape. The
site has an area of 365,731 ft² ( Square feet). The site can be accessed from every direction as
the main road connecting settlement passes through east direction of proposed site.
Due to earthen condition of bank of site, it is difficult to access the site in rainy. The site has
pipal trees planted on the southern bank of the pond which maintains greenery on the site.
But the embankment on the bank of pond is of earthen due it gets displaced in rain.
The existing physical infrastructure present on the site are HanumanTemple, over head tank.
The material used in the temple is of brick and concrete but since the civil work of temple is
not completed, it does not look aesthetically pleasing at first glance. The site around the pond
is used for agricultural purpose, so the farmers take rest during hot summer under in the
temple or under the trees.
3.3 Zoning and Design Aspect of Hanuman Mandir with Park and Park
Due to irregular nature of site and different access point, zoning for Hanuman Mandir with
Park and Park is done carefully to control the traffic and pedestrian flow in the park as well to
make the park functional for recreational and religious activity.
The main entry of Hanuman Mandir with Park is considered from East and West direction of
the site where as pedestrian entry is also provided form South-East direction . The provision
of parking is done on the periphery of site to control the vehicaular movement during peak
hour or when the park is in functional state. The main entry to the park leads to yoga zone
where regular bushes is provided with open area for various function like gathering or
performing. The park has provision of electric supply as well as provision of water supply to
ease the function.
On the right side of east entrance, recreational zone is located. The pergolas are provided
which acts as shading device and allows controlled sunlight into it. The shade and shadow
cast by pergolas is very interesting which encourages various age group to shelter under it.
The recreational zone has playing equipment for the children and space for yoga and outdoor
gym too. The statue is also placed in the recreational zone which will be major point of
attraction for the visitors. The monotony along the pathway is addressed by placing sitting
space with flowers bed where visitors can take rest or interact among each other. The pathway
has hard landscape elements making it easy to use in all season. Similarly, steps are also
provided on the bank of pond to access the pond and used it as sitting space.
The temple is proposed in the east bank of the pond which can be accessed direct from the
highway connecting bank of pond. As the pond has water so the proposed temple is well
reinforced and structurally safe.
The total cost of DPR of Hanuman Mandir with Park is Eight Crore Fifty-Five Lakhs Thirty-
Five Thousand Four Hundred Twenty Four Rupees and Fifty Paisa Only.
