WHAT IS IT USED FOR?


We use Past simple to talk about actions that
happened in the past, that is, before NOW.

We use Past simple to talk about finished actions,
that is, the action has already finished.

She visited her grandma on Sunday.

Subject + verb + ed/irre. + clause

I played football.
He spoke four languages, but now only three.

Affirmative CAREFUL
S + verb + -ed/ir. + cause When you use the past
(Paula danced in the dance floor.) in negative or question,
you don't need to add -
Negative ed or use the irregular
S + did + NOT + verb + cause form, because you
(Paula did not dance in the dance floor.) already have the
auxiliary verb did that
Question expresses past tense.
