Module I Discussion II

Two companies that interest me from the Fortune 100 Best Companies to work for:

First company I would choose is Marriott International. This company is good for an
employee to work for because during the pandemic this company furloughed the employees
and gave the employee 20% pay and healthcare for a few months. The company also partnered
with outside companies that were hiring so that the employees that they were letting go had
access to a job and they gave them references as well. The company communicated very well
with the employees during the pandemic. During the furlough, the senior leadership volunteered
to call the employees that got furloughed once a month so that they could log in and learn what
was happening to the company. The team members that got furloughed had weekly calls to talk
about life, their struggles, etc. The benefits this company offers is dental, vision, health, mental
health, life, pet, and disability insurance. They also offer discounts which consist of happy hour,
company outings, and meals provided. They offer tuition reimbursement, a continuing education
stipend and online courses subscriptions. They have a 401k program and they will match it, a
employee stock plan and a performance bonus. They offer paid sick days, PTO, and paid
holidays.

Second company I would choose is Hilton. This company is good for an employee to
work for because during the pandemic they communicated really well with their employees. If
they had to let someone go, they did it with compassion and hospitality. If they had to let
someone go, they would either extend their Go Hilton Eligibility and reservations that would
normally be canceled. The company made the best decision to help out their employees. The
leaders also communicated, showed support and empathized with the employees. The benefits
this company offers for their employees are a Go Hilton Travel Discount Program, PTO, Health
and Welfare benefits, debt free education, retirement savings program, employee stock plan
and mental wellness support.
