Did You Know… Think about the “what if” and take action Protect by keeping out of harm’s way: o Heightened awareness by asking “What if some slips?” o Good communication with others o SOP’s use Protect through layers of protection: o Proper PPE appropriate to the hazard & job task o Proper tools for the job and trained to use them o Job skill & knowledge hazards Daily Activity ~ Good practices to follow! o Discuss the job scope and identify hazards with co-workers o Review tasks that will be performed in the workgroup so that everyone understands what they are doing. o If you are issuing a permit to help identify known hazards in the work area (e.g. hot equipment, critical equipment, protruding objects, etc.) o Insure you implement the controls of eliminations you identified during the pre-task hazard analysis process. o Use tools that eliminate potential line of fire hazards such as (tool holders, backup wrenches, flange alignment and spreader tools, etc…)
