My life choice

Most people at the age of 16, the age at which you are in 5th grade of high school; most
people have in mind and are decided what to study or are even in academy since 2 or 3
years ago, but that was not my case. It was the month of June, half of the year and I didn't
know what to study, what I did know was that it was going to be a profession related to
letters because with numbers I was never going to finish it.

In my school they took us to a fair of university careers in which several private and
national universities were presented. Among them was Jaime Bausate y Meza, I
approached them and they gave me information and brochures. When I got home I
investigated more about the curriculum and the prestige of the university. I realized that it
was the only university that specialized in journalism in Peru. I went to the university a
month later and took my exam in September. For that exam I prepared a lot, I studied in
an academy for a month and I solved admission exams prior to 2019. The day came and I
went to the university to take my exam, I remember I was nervous, I entered the classroom
and saw several students who were ready to take their admission exam just like me.

The results came out at noon, and when I saw that I had been admitted I was very happy
because for me it was a great achievement, it was as if things were improving for the
better. That day my dad took me to eat grilled chicken in Miraflores and we had a good
time.

Three years have passed since that election and I do not regret it, I feel happy, fortunate to
have the teachers who teach me because they have a great trajectory. Besides, being a
Bausatina makes me proud because the university is prestigious and very important in the
history of Peru.
Finally, although my initial choice was not journalism as such, I think it matters how I acted
today with my career. I am passionate about journalism and I would not want to lose the
emotion of every journalist, curiosity.
