RESEARCH TITLE:” EFFECTS OF CULTURAL BELIEFS AND PRACTICES ON THE


HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF POSTPARTUM MOTHERS AND NEWBORNS”

Objectives of the Study:

The general objective of this study is to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)

which is to reduce the country’s maternal mortality. Specifically, this study aims to:

1. To identify the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of age, religion, educational

attainment, socio-economic status, and gravidity.

2. To determine the cultural beliefs and practices on the health and well-being of maternal

postpartum and newborn.

3. To identify the effects of cultural beliefs and practices on maternal health and well-being of

the postpartum and newborn.

4. To conclude the significant difference in the cultural beliefs and practices across the profile.
