CONVERSATION BETWEEN THE STUDENT INTERVIEWER AND THE BRGY. HEALTH WORKER

STUDENT INTERVIEWER: A pleasant afternoon, Ma’am. I would like to introduce myself, I am Maria
Aira G. Cabras, 19 year-old, and a Student Midwife of the University of Northern Philippines. Ma’am,
I would like to ask you some questions if it’s okay to you about the different programs that our
barangay has regarding to the pregnant women and to their new born babies.

1. What are the programs does our brgy have for the new born babies?
2. What are the programs does our brgy have for pregnant moms?

BHW: Yes nakkong, you may. So the different programs we have in our barangay for the pregnant
moms and to their newborns are the: prenatal check-up, the new born screening, the vaccinations
for the babies, seminars and awareness for the future mothers and to teenage pregnancy.

STUDENT INTERVIEWER: Can you please specify the vaccines and it’s purposes that you just
mentioned, Ma’am? And the cycle of the prenatal check-ups and new born screening or its
schedules.

BHW: The prenatal that I have been mentioned is happens every month including in checking the
pregnant mother’s vital signs, the new born screening is held by the assistance of our RHU and they
often visit our barangay and give us assistance of our program. The vaccine in specifically speaking, it
includes the Measles Vaccine for the “tigdas or tuko” as well as the Rubella Vaccine of the MMR
Shot, and the Anti-Pneumonia.

STUDENT INTERVIEWER: Okay, Ma’am. Thank you. So last question, Ma’am. What about the
seminars and awareness that you had just mentioned earlier? What are those programs for and
what does it contains?

BHW: About that, those are guidance that will be discussed for the future moms and to the young
women like you in our barangay. It is one of the best way to give awareness and knowledge for
every women on how and what will they do for them to safe and ready.
