1. How do you distinguish between informal and formal English language and why do
you think it is important to learn both languages?
2. Compare these two sentences.

         A)      Sorry, but we can’t meet this deadline.

        B)      We regret to inform you that we will not be able to meet this deadline.

          What do you think is the difference between sentence A and sentence B? Explain your
answer based on this week’s learning material

      3. How would you explain the difference between slang and colloquialism? Please
provide 2 (two) examples of each.

1 - Formal language is usually used when you are talking to people you don't know or in
situations where you need to be formal and polite. as it should be
mentioned earlier, formal language is often used in the office world. Why should we use
formal language? because the formal language is trusted very much
effective in demonstrating our expertise in one area or knowledge in a particular
discipline.
- Informal language is usually used for everyday conversation with friends or colleagues
in the office when talking casually, Informal language vocabulary
also more diverse, even now there are many choices of "slang" language which is widely
used by young children or school children to
friend. Informal language can also be used when chatting or e-mailing with friends or
friends.
Why do we have to use informal language in daily conversation and talk with friends so
that talking to friends does not use language that is
too gauze

2. For the first sentence (a) the sentence uses informal language because it can be used
in conversation with friends and can also be used for language
daily. and for the second sentence (b) it is formal language because it uses official
vocabulary and allows us to give an impression of the situation.

3. The difference between slang and colloquial language is an informal language that is
commonly used in spoken communication. Usually, some slang words are used by
groups.
certain. when talking to friends, using slang is common. however, slang is considered
inappropriate when used in the business world and
academic world.

everyday language examples : Turn off the alarm and Have a cup of coffee
