Recommender Introduction
*Please include the explanation of the relationship to the applicant.

Eva was one of my students at Indonesia University of Education. I first met her when she
was a sophomore and took my Semantics and Literary Criticism classes in 2007. During
the semester, she had shown strong enthusiasm and satisfactory knowledge in the subjects.
She showed outstanding interest in all topics discussed. In addition, she actively
participated in classroom discussions. She was good at posing and responding to questions
from other students. She also frequently asked critical question for better understanding of
the topic being discussed.

Opinions of Recommendation
* Please include applicant’s capability, strengths, and weaknesses (interest for intended
major, academic potential, responsibility, creativity, communication skills and others).

Eva has several strengths that will help her succeed in her graduate study. She used to be
both a successful academic and social-oriented student. She got along well with everyone.
I impressed by the way she worked with her classmates and she is a good companion, too.

I do not see any significant weakness in the applicant beside the fact that she is still
relatively young who might have less international experience. However, I believe that she
can manage this minor weakness by doing her best as she has been exemplifying in her
previous self-development. With some courses of intercultural communication that she has
taken in her undergraduate program will compensate for this shortcoming and help her
prepare for this international adventure.

Apparently, it is her hopes and dreams to study International Trade in South Korea. She has
discussed with me how she would use this scholarship as a motivation to build start up

business and boost local digital entrepreneurships by gaining knowledge and skills to
achieve what she intends to do for her surroundings.

The idea of sustainable economic growth through coffee plantation for her future thesis, I
think, show how well-prepared she is in planning her future study. This combination of
academic, social and language skills is expected to support her completing her graduate
study. I believe that she deserves to receive the scholarship. Her persistence and hard work
will maintain her performance in achieving her dream to contribute to the community.
With all these considerations and qualities in mind, I believe that she will excel in her
graduate study and finish her degree on the projected duration.

Recommender: Ahmad Bukhori Muslim, Ph.D.
