B. Write a reflection paper regarding the present situation of administrator and supervisor in
a preschool setting.

To effectively learn and develop, children need situations that are both safe and

encouraging. The present situation of administrator and supervisor in a preschool setting

includes ideal principles that are obviously needed for children to develop. Services and

educators must always provide efficient monitoring to ensure this. They should consistently

offer information on several facets of supervision, ranging from legal standards and

guidelines to operational tactics.

As a future Early Childhood educator, I learned several things. Effective supervision

can begin even before the children arrive at the location. Place furniture and other materials

in rooms so that sightlines are not obstructed. Keeping furnishings at waist height or below

will enable adults to see and hear youngsters more readily. Also, it makes it simpler for

teachers to roam around the classroom and observe learning environments from various

angles. Check the entry points to children's rest and restroom spaces as well as the pathways

leading there to confirm that visibility monitoring is possible.

In general, the administrator and supervisor should identify and act out their

respective roles to effectively contribute to children’s overall development.

C. Create your own graphic organizer that would identify the characteristics in managing early childhood
education program

Managing Preschool Program

Law concerns abuse of or injury to a child. Neither

the parent nor another person may willfully injure a
child in the case of abuse by the parent; the child
may be removed from parental custody.

The owner or operator of a school are clear. Abuse

of the child by a parent is unlawful and should be
reported. Abuse or neglect of a child by someone
other than the parent is also unlawful.

All levels of government should be involved in

various ways: City or country regulations may
determine where a school can be operated,
Department of Health, Education or Welfare may
determine the guidelines for licensing.

ECCD should use culturally indigenous learning

materials and the child’s first language as the
medium of instruction.

Effective school must have a sense of order,

purpose, and direction fostered by consistency
among teachers and an atmosphere of
encouragement in which student are praised and
rewarded.

“No person may commit sexual acts upon or in the

presence of children”. ◦ Other acts such as
molesting, selling drugs or alcohol or involving a

Offer academically and socially rich programs

coupled with enriched environment through a
variety of options; have an extra active co-
curricular program; it should also provide
instruction that promotes student learning. The
programs are designed to ensure the total
development of the child.
Lesson 2
Assess
Answer the following questions below. (5 points each)
1. List down the needed staff for a school program to operate?
The needed staff for a school program to operate are director, teaching staff, support

staff, dietician, and volunteers. Director are responsible for financial, personnel, policy, and

facility decisions, provides community linkages, handles licensing and regulations and makes

the ultimate decision in the chain of responsibility in all matters that pertain to the program.

Teaching staff includes Early Childhood Specialist, Early Childhood Teacher, Early

Childhood Teacher Assistant and teacher aide.

2. Cite the possible problems encountered by the different teaching staff and the director?
The are several possible problems encountered by the different teaching staff and the

director in learning institutions. The complexity of the job, the management challenge, the

complexity challenge, and the learning challenge, as well as interactions with various

stakeholders, all of whom have issues with educational authorities and educational policy, the

faculty and the teaching process, the students, the families and the school community, and

society as a whole.

3. How can you motivate volunteers to help and assist your program?
By keeping in touch with volunteers, organizers can create stronger bonds that sustain

volunteers' motivation for longer. Volunteers establish a community that inspires them to take

more initiatives and get more involved when organizers are proactive in connecting with
them. Hence, it is ideal to motivate volunteers with proactive communication. Moreover,

thanking volunteers is an important element of appreciating the value of their labor, inspiring

them to give more, and increasing their commitment to your cause. Volunteers are a key

component of any organization and go above and beyond to support an organization's

purpose.

4. Write down the advantages and disadvantages of belonging a professional early childhood
organization. Give an example of professional organization that you are involved with?

There are several and diverse advantages and disadvantages of belonging a

professional early childhood organization. It serves as a supporting team that would help

overcome challenges. An organization would increase productivity of work. However,

there can be disadvantages such as inefficient communication, paying membership free,

too long duration of meetings, etc.

5. Talk to several teachers of young children. Ask them these questions and write the answers
below: “What are the most rewarding parts of their job?” Do you have the same view?
Defend your answers.
One teacher indicated that seeing their learners effectively learned, motivated to

learn, and gives appreciation are the most rewarding parts of their job. As for me, I agree

with her. The main goal of a teacher is to effectively teach and seeing the learners apply

what they learn is rewarding. Besides, seeing learners attend school regularly, always

early, and very participative in class are very rewarding. Most importantly, receiving

appreciation from the learners always melt the hearts of every teacher.
Lesson 3
Assess
Describe the different ECE school and program using your own words. Fill in the given matrix
below.
Types of Schools and Programs Description

A. Half-Day School Schools with three or fewer daily sessions are

typically created with the primary goal of
giving young children educational
opportunities. Although some difficulties may
be scheduled for two and a half hours, a
typical session lasts three hours. The child
will have the chance to participate in a
number of activities throughout the session,
including tests, block construction or dramatic
play, as well as group activities like story
time, music, and snack time.
B. Full-Day School Schools that offer sessions longer than three
hours are designed to care for children in a
group setting while the parents are at work or
otherwise unavailable to do so. The
institutions were created with the intention of
reducing staff absences and increasing output.
C. Private Propriety School These institutions, which may be owned by
one or more people and run as for-profit
businesses, offer half-day or full-day
programs. There is freedom to start a program
depending on the owner's preferences because
each school is licensed for a fixed number of
students, which limits the possible income.
The number of kids they may enroll is
determined by licensing units; when more
money is needed, they can only raise the
tuition or reduce spending. Educational ideas,
they made wish to advance a specific teaching
technique or highlight one section of the
curriculum; and self-sustaining through
tuitions.
D. Family Day Care Home A full-day school that typically looks after
children of working parents. It is owned and
run for profit by a government organization.
The license places a cap on the number of
kids who can attend, including the daycare
provider's own kids, at 6 to 10. Due to the tiny
number of kids served, tuition is the only
source of money and is severely constrained.
The daycare provider cooks, cleans, and gives
the kids educational activities in addition to
handling all the administrative work.
E. Profit/Public School A firm that owns profitable private schools
and operates institutions in
various places. Typically, for-profit schools
exist to generate revenue or make a profit.
The profits are taxed by them. As though they
were clients, parents pay for the school's
services.
F. Non- Profit School These are the more conventional schools that
spring to mind; they are also referred to as
not-for-profit institutions. Government
money, student fees, and endowments all go
toward them. The majority of the time, that
money is utilized to fund curriculum,
instruction, and other aspects of school
operations.
G. Home-based Services Early childhood education is offered to babies
and young children through home-based and
family daycare services, either in the child's
own home or the home of an adult educator. It
could involve full- or partial-day instruction
and care. Children in small groups can learn
in a setting that feels like home thanks to
home-based services.

2. Describe an early childhood center or school which you are familiar with according to length
of session, purpose, and sources of income. State your answer briefly.

Schools with three or fewer daily sessions are typically created with the primary goal of

giving young children educational opportunities. Together with educational programs for babies

and toddlers, several schools have now incorporated ones for parents and other caregivers. Some

organizations provide mothers and caregivers job training. Although some difficulties may be

scheduled for two and a half hours, a typical session lasts three hours. The child will have the

chance to participate in a number of activities throughout the session, including tests, block

construction or dramatic play, as well as group activities like story time, music, and snack time.

It is also possible to plan experiences for large and small groups to improve learning capacity.

Lesson 4
Assess
A. In your own words explain the importance of the principles and practices for young children.
Principles and practices brought about several advantages to young children. It is a

foundation to develop other skills that children should develop like social, communication,

and sensory skills and other life skills. Besides, principles and practices for young children

are important since it practices children’s progress in learning from their young age in a safe

environment where effective learning occurs.

B. Answer the following questions below. Write your answer on the space provided.
1. List three things to consider in choosing a site for a school.

These are the three things to consider in choosing a site for a school:

a) early accessible to the families who will use the service

b) close to business employing large members of women would be a likely place to consider

for a school

c) Nearness to an elementary school may be another consideration of the preschool that also

provides day care center form which parents find it convenient to be available to leave a

child at a day care center from which the child can walk or be transported from his

kindergarten to elementary classes

2. Which department or agency is responsible for licensing a school?

The department or agency that is responsible for licensing a school is the one of the first

organizations to offer early learning program accreditation which is the National Association for

the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). It has almost 30 years of experience providing
accrediting services. The largest player among the agencies that accredit early childhood

programs is NAEYC.

3. When is the time for opening a school?

It is the right time to open a school during a period of rising operating costs because these

factors will increase the likelihood of the venture's success: a suitable location, a well-equipped

building, carefully considered revenue sources, an in-depth cost assessment, and extensive

recruitment advertising.

4. What are the by-laws for opening a school based on the Manual of Regulation for private and
public schools?
In order to obtain information both locally and nationally, the owner, director, or

administrator interested in opening a school for young children should get in touch with the

proper organizations. Where a school can be placed is mostly determined by the requirements set

by the local zoning authority. The type of neighborhood in which a school can operate is

determined by zoning regulations, which is typically in a multi-family or commercial area.

Zoning regulations may also stipulate that the lot needs to be big enough to provide parking and

a place to offload kids from a car or bus.

5. What do you think is the most important thing to do before opening a school for young
children? Why?
As for me, the most important thing to do before opening a school for young children is

to have a safe location that is exposed to several services and opportunities that would help

children learn on their daily life experiences. For instance, the location should be free from high-

risk locations such as free from fault line, flood, landslide, etc. Moreover, the school location
should be at the nearest park, playground, nature, and other locations that children can learn from

observation and experiencing it.

C.What are the necessary tasks in opening a school for young children? Explain the words/
phrase briefly.

1. Preparatory Research- There should be a preparatory research proper location for the school,

a well-equipped building, carefully through-out sources of income, a thorough assessment cost

and extensive advertising for recruitment will increase the possibility of success in the venture

2. Zooning Requirement- Zoning requirements specify the kind of neighborhood in which a

school can be operated, usually in a multiple and residential or commercial area.

3. Licensing Requirement- The maximum number of students that schools can accept is

determined by licensing criteria. It is necessary to determine a fair tuition in order to meet the

anticipated costs. Discovering the "going rate" will be aided by conducting a survey at any local

school. The amount of tuition that can be charged also depends on whether a school offers a half-

day program or all-day care.

4. Building Requirement- The school should a safe and a well-equipped building

5. Manual of Regulation for Private and Public Schools - Owners of schools must also take

into account any rules that may apply to their institution. In order to obtain information both

locally and nationally, the owner, director, or administrator interested in opening a school for

young children should get in touch with the proper organizations.

Communication and Evaluation: Strategies for Ideal Principles and

Practices in Organization and Management of

Early Childhood Education Programs.

Several studies have demonstrated the value of education beginning in early life

and how it helps to enhance human resource quality. Early Childhood Education Program

(ECEP) should therefore be given considerable consideration because it can affect all children

equally (Eze, 2018). The foundation for the improvement of human resource quality is

anticipated to be ECEP. The teacher factor is the most crucial component of ECEP. The numbers

indicate a noticeable increase in the proportion of instructors who hold college degrees. Teacher

who communicates consistently and effectively and is responsive to learner’s need ideally

practice good principles and practices in organization and management of early childhood

education programs.

Communication is a building block of life. The classroom is a sophisticated

communication setting. The purpose of communication procedures, which include verbal,

nonverbal, and paraverbal elements, is to mediate teacher and student behavior. The level and

depth of engagement between partners determines the influence they have upon others. Although

it has long been believed that a teacher's working style and the way they present themselves

influence how well a business operates, the attention is now shifting to how partners are learning

to engage with one another and use tools that are co-participants (Muste, 2016). Resource

material as a support of teaching strategies of teachers will definitely help effective education.
Integrating communication in utilizing resource material will support effective teaching and

learning especially in ECEP.

Bušljeta (2013) indicated that it is hard to imagine today's educational process

without the usage of diverse teaching and learning tools, and resource materials given that

students are surrounded by visual representations and audiovisual and aural materials on a daily

basis, thanks in particular to media like television and the internet. In addition to making the

educational process more engaging and exciting, teaching and learning tools should also promote

active learning, the acquisition of new skills, and the adoption of positive values and attitudes by

students. The criteria and procedures for using teaching and learning materials in the teaching

and learning process must be clearly defined in order to accomplish the aforementioned goals.

Another study from Kapur (2019), indicated the importance of resource material.

One of the key factors in educational institutions that would encourage student learning and aid

in the accomplishment of academic goals and objectives is the production of teaching-learning

materials. The development of the teaching-learning materials should be the main emphasis of

the educators. To improve the educational system, research must be done and cutting-edge,

creative teaching strategies must be promoted. The improvements in teaching and learning

resources are the result of numerous factors. They include student grade levels, instructional

objectives, subjects, and concepts. When these are introduced, educators must make sure they

support students in reaching their academic objectives.

The setting and learner characteristics, the educational program's goal and the tools

employed, as well as the processes and methods for program execution, all have an impact on

how well the ECEP works. The evaluation activity is the most crucial component that can

contribute to the program's success. In order to determine the program's strengths and flaws,

evaluation must first assess the performance of the various program components against a set of

predefined criteria (Eze, 2018).

In general, communication and evaluation help create an ideal resource material to

support teaching and learning. Communication will help understand each other and identify

challenges in the field of teaching and learning. Moreover, communication skill is a life skill

that learner should acquire to develop. Furthermore, evaluation is a broad phrase that organizes

the entire learning process in order to help the individual improve for the better (Sandeep, 2020).

Learners all across the world go through numerous rounds of examinations and evaluation. Thus,

with communication and proper evaluation, a good and ideal principles and practices in

organization and management of early childhood education programs would exist.

Module 2 Planning Early Childhood Programs

Lesson 1
Assess
Instruction: Create a matrix of leadership styles and methods appropriate in the early years. Write
a brief explanation of each leadership skill and method.
Leadership Styles Description
1. Autocratic Style It is a do as I say command that best describes
an autocratic leadership style since an
autocratic leader typically thinks of himself or
herself as the most knowledgeable person at
the table. Without much feedback from the
rest of the team, they make all the choices.
This command-and-control style of leadership
is typical of earlier eras, but it is ineffective
with the talent of the present.
2. Authoritative Style The authoritative leadership style, often
known as "visionary," is the mark of
confident leaders who plan the route and set
expectations, while engaging and energizing
followers along the way. These figures of
authority clear the air for people in an
uncertain environment. They aid them in
understanding the direction the business is
taking and what will happen when they arrive.
3. Pacesetting Style Do as I do! is the command that best
describes pacesetting leaders. A tremendously
motivated leader who sets the pace, much as
in a race, is described by this approach.
Setting the bar high, pacesetters encourage
their teammates to sprint to the finish line
with all their might.
4. Democratic Style Democratic leaders are more likely to consult
their staff when making decisions that could
have an impact on how they perform their
jobs. Before approving a final decision, they
also ask the employees' perspectives.
5. Coaching Style Consider this is a common leadership style in
coaching. A coach sees individuals as a talent
pool that needs to be developed. The coach-
style leader works to maximize each person's
potential. Coaching-style leaders welcome
others with open arms and doors. They think
that everyone possesses inner strength. A
coaching leader provides people with a little
guidance so they can maximize their
potential.
6. Affiliative Style Of all the leadership approaches, the
affiliative leadership method is one where the
leader gets up close and personal with people.
"People come first" is a term frequently used
to define this type of leadership. A leader who
employs this style pays close attention to and
encourages team members' emotional needs.
The goal of the leader is to create a conduit
between himself or herself and the team.
7. Laissez-Faire Style At the other extreme from the autocratic style
is the laissez-faire leadership approach. This
leadership approach requires the least degree
of supervision out of all of them. The laissez-
faire leader lets people go with the flow, while
the authoritarian leader maintains a rock-solid
position on topics.

B. Answer the following question based on the acquire.
1. Explain what is meant by a philosophy of a school. Why is it important? Support your answer.
A philosophy of a school clearly defines the learning institution as a whole. It includes

the statement of reflection about the beliefs of the school that influence the stakeholders of the

school. The principles of a school not only guides teaching and beliefs but also helps other

stakeholders, such as Educators and Parents that appreciate, support, and influence approach to

early learning.

2. How will your philosophy impact your leadership skills?

My philosophy will impact my leadership skills since it will influence me as how I

managed my characteristics as a leader. My philosophy includes my belief. With that, it reflects

my actions and define me of what my abilities are. Indeed, philosophy is a statement of reflection

about beliefs that influence actions. It's the process of continuously examining, testifying and

are some situations where it may
make sense to choose an
unaccredited early learning
program for your child. Here are a
few potential drawbacks to
accreditation.

2. What is/are the importance of accreditation of the ECE Program? Support your answer.
A program that is accredited has met the strictest requirements for quality as

established by professionals in the field of early childhood education. Poor-quality programs

won't pass muster since accredited status requires considerable, arduous work. Thus, it

ensures the ideal teaching and learning effectively.

3. What are the different aspects to be assessed for school accreditation?

The applicant school's overall operation is carefully examined by the accrediting

organizations. Although the topics assessed and the anticipated criteria differ, generally

speaking, the evaluation will encompass faculty credentials, curriculum, and facilities.

Accreditation requirements for early children settings may include cover matters like

relationships, monitoring developmental growth, and health. Accreditation is given if the

school (or in this case, early childhood program) satisfies the predefined standards of the

certifying authority.

properly.
According to UNESCO, the kindergarten curriculum recommended by the Department of

Education is more overtly geared toward fostering "school readiness" and encourages the use of

pre-made teaching resources as well as worksheets, manipulatives, and playthings. A "Pre-school

Handbook" is given to kindergarten teachers, including the learning objectives and ideas that

should be taught as well as suggested classroom activities and supplies. Also, the daily timetable

and some classroom management instructions are included. A copy of the "Eight-week ECCD

Curriculum in Grade One," which is based on the full-year kindergarten curriculum and intended

to be applied during the first eight weeks of the school year for all Grade One pupils, is another

resource made available by the DepEd.

Preschool education at the kindergarten level (age group 5 years) must aim to develop

children in all aspects (physical, social, emotional, and cognitive) so they will be better equipped

to adjust and cope with real-world situations and the demands of formal schooling; and to

maximize the children's potential through a variety of thoughtfully chosen and meaningful

experiences taking into account their interests and capabilities.

In general, Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) should be comprehensive,

integrative, and sustainable. It should involve cross-sectoral and interagency cooperation at the

national and local levels of government, as well as between service providers, families, and

communities. Besides, the state institutionalized to support parents in their roles as primary

caregivers and as their children's first teachers and to promote children's rights to survival,

development, and special protection while fully acknowledging the nature of childhood and the

need to provide experiences that are developmentally appropriate to address their needs.

Additionally, the State recognizes the age range of 0 to 8 years as the first critical stage of
educational development, with the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Council

being in charge of the age range of 0 to 4 years.

Interview Report

Interviewee: Ritchel Conejo

School Assigned: Bantuanon Elementary School

Introduction

An effective teacher adapts their approach to the issue at hand. The learning objectives

for the particular situation as well as what the children already know and can do should be taken

into account. We can identify which approach might be the most successful by remaining

adaptable and vigilant. If one approach fails, another will usually. Understanding the difficulties

teachers encounter in ensuring the learning of every kid in a class should take center stage in

teacher development, performance reviews, and the entire apparatus surrounding lesson

observation. Even for highly skilled and experienced teachers, it can frequently be quite

challenging to master every student's learning. This needs to be acknowledged, and management

procedures should be designed to help teachers overcome the actual difficulties they face.

During the Covid-19 pandemic a lot of sectors have been challenge and one if it is the

education system. Ms. Ritchel Conejo, a teacher at Bantuanon Elementary School shared her

experience during her challenge time in teaching during the pandemic.

Question: Did you teach during covid19 pandemic?

Answer: Yes, I was able to teach during the covid19 pandemic. I experienced teaching modular,

online, and limited face-to-face.

Question: How was your overall experience?

Answer: At first, it was really difficult since everyone is in panic. The shift from face-to-face to

modular and online is very challenging not just for us teachers but also to our learners.

Fortunately, we had able to adjust and gradually used to rearrange the way we teach and learn.

With the covid1p pandemic, we had able to learn several things, like managing our time well, be

flexible, be dynamic, and resourceful or innovative.

Question: Is there any problem and issues related to School Operation especially this covid19

pandemic?

Answer: Of course, there are a lot actually. One is that the great shift from face-to-to-face to

modular learning for example, there are activities that is needed to change since it can only be

done during face-to-face. What I mean is that, there are activities that can be done only on face-

to-face setting. With that, we need to change the activities that modular students can still

experience activities. Moreover, the time is very limited when it comes to learning during the

pandemic. Also, effective learning is not secured. We can really tell if the learner actually did the

activity or not. Furthermore, we cannot tell hundred percent that the learning needs of the child is

attained. It was very challenging for both teachers, learners, and parents as well.
Question: Did you encounter the problems and issues? What steps have you taken to

overcome it?

Answer: We only did one thing, cooperation. The educators cooperated; we also seek

cooperation from to parents. At first, it was really difficult since not all wanted to cooperate

because of the impact of the pandemic. I also became more sociable since I always seek help

from my co-educators and parents of my learners. In general, communication is the key. To

communicate, understand, and express are the steps I have taken to overcome the challenges I

faced last pandemic.

Conclusion

There are several learning strategies, modes, channel, and environment. Learning can

happen everywhere. However, challenges also occur. In every daily life experience, there would

be challenges not just in teaching but also in learning, administrating, caregiving, supervising,

etc. Fortunately, these challenges are faced and overcome and would lead to betterment.

Challenges will make teaching and learning methods have changes that leads to development.

Cooperation and communication are just some examples of the effective ways to overcome the

challenges.
In general, identifying problems and issues are very significant to solve it. COVID-19

pandemic are just some challenges in educational system and other aspects of life. Indeed, there

could be several challenges that would exist. However, overcoming these challenges would lead

to betterment. Thus, educators should be effective educators who could be dynamic, flexible,

resourceful, and innovative to ensure effective teaching and learning wherever and whenever.
