2. What specific topics or issues your group will tackle in the selected group project
- The Philippine airport infrastructure plays a crucial role in the social and economic
development of the country. Here are some ways how:
o Tourism: The Philippines is a popular tourist destination, and a significant
part of the country's economy depends on tourism. The airport infrastructure
is the first point of contact for tourists visiting the country. An efficient airport
system will ensure that tourists have a positive experience and encourage
repeat visits, contributing to the growth of the tourism industry and generating
revenue.
o Trade: The Philippines is an export-oriented economy, and the airport
infrastructure is an essential component of the country's logistics chain. An
efficient airport system can facilitate the movement of goods and materials,
reducing lead times, and improving the competitiveness of Philippine products
in the international market.
o Employment: The airport infrastructure can create job opportunities for
Filipinos. For example, the expansion of airports can create new jobs in
construction, maintenance, and operations. The growth of the aviation
