Statement of Purpose

I am Mansoor Fareed S/o Mumtaz Ahmad. I was born on 10 December 1994 in Multan,
Pakistan. I passed Matriculation and Intermediate from Board of Intermediate & Secondary
Education, Multan in 2009 and 2013 respectively. I completed Bachelor of Science from
Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan in 2015. Then I completed Master of Computer
Science from Institute of Southern Punjab, Multan in 2018.

After that, I joined Innovative & Visionary Solutions as Web Developer and worked there from
October 2018 to March 2021. In order to enhance my practical knowledge and polish my
professional and communication skills I have worked hard and tried to learn as much as
possible from this experience. After that I got the opportunity to work as a Govt of Punjab’s
Revenue Field Staff at City Jalalpur Pirwala, Tehsil Jalalpur Pirwala and working there since
April 2021. (There is no experience letter attached in documents, details taken from CV. Please
verify at your end.)
During my work experience, I felt a need to do a master degree from abroad. I searched
thoroughly about proceedings of my master degree from abroad. If one wants to make a top
spot in his chosen career, one will have to take quality education to meet the challenges of the
market that is already saturated with local graduates. In order to take innovative education along
with global exposure I have planned to Master of Information Technology from University of
Wollongong, Australia which will definitely help me to achieve my desired target of becoming
an IT Professional in one of the well esteemed multinational IT companies in Pakistan.

I considered the similar course of study in Pakistani top universities like National University of
Science and Technology (NUST) and Lahore University of Management Science (LUMS) but
their merit is high and in population of 200 million everyone cannot get admission in these
couple of universities. I also considered COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT)
and University of Management and Technology (UMT) but course curriculum and research
work was not effective enough. Completing a degree from Australia will open more
opportunities as compared to local studies. That’s why I have decided to pursue my further
studies in Australia.

I selected Australia for my higher studies because of its rich educational culture, high-ranking of
its universities, and most importantly in view of recognition of Australian university degrees all
over the world. The quality of education provided in Australia will surely help me to groom
myself in the field of information technology. I need to acquire higher education in a dynamic
environment to enhance my knowledge and to grow further in my life professionally.
I have investigated universities in Germany, Canada and Australia but I have chosen Australia
because my sixteen years of previous education is in English and I feel more comfortable to
carry on my studies in a country where English is the first language. If I select Germany for my
masters I have to learn completely new language. Moreover, Canada was also there in my search
list but the weather conditions are pretty harsh for a person who is not used to such low
temperatures. Keeping all these conditions in my mind I have come to conclude that Australia is
the country which is more suitable for me. Many Australian universities are ranked best in
ranking statistics of international universities which depicts that education system in Australia is
well established, systematic and leading among all others. Its education standard is highly
recognized and valued across the world. Australian education system has a strong international
reputation and is known for its effective structure. The Australian education system maintains the
fact that they are more advanced in the field of technology as compared to other countries around
the world.
I also like to study and explore different cultures so one advantage for me in Australia is it is
multi-cultural society with diverse population. Australia has a safe and stable environment and
friendly people make it an enjoyable place to study. I also found Australia economical in terms
of education, living, travelling and other costs in general as compared to other countries.
Furthermore, the multicultural environment and harmonious society will add on to my learning
experience in Australia.
I have also searched other Universities in Australia like La Trobe University, Curtin University
and Deakin University but they don’t have extensive course curriculum as per my requirement. I
also realized that the syllabus offered at UOW is designed to meet the demands of the present
day industry. There are several reasons to consider my decision to study in University of
Wollongong because it is ranked among the world’s top 1% of universities and is one of
Australia’s best for employer satisfaction with graduates. The federal government’s latest
Quality Indicators for Teaching and Learning (QILT) Employer Satisfaction Survey ranked
employers’ overall satisfaction with UOW graduates at 91.7%, placing UOW among top
universities nationally. UOW ranked among the top 250 universities in the world for Computer
Science and Information Systems in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022.
UOW is associated with multiple organizations like as Westpac, ASD and Tibra etc., so overall
students from UOW are able to secure good job all over the world. I have also been awarded
bursary so this makes an overall 30% deduction in my tuition fee. This makes my tuition fee
more affordable and gives me a valid reason to join this university other than many other valid
grounds. To conclude, Master of Information Technology offered by UOW is excellently
structured to match my requirements.
Course structure………………
After completion of my proposed degree, I will be able to critically analyze domain-specific
problems in various industrial sectors, such as banking, marketing, health, education,
government institutions, transportation and development of innovative solutions through the
effective use of IT tools. I will be able to develop a broad, coherent knowledge of information
technology discipline including its dynamic environment. I will be able to design develop and
implement IT systems and software, associated policies, and procedures for optimal use. I will
be able to solve complex real world problems by integrating information technology methods
with effective management strategies and by developing and deploying information technology
applications. I will learn to research, synthesize and apply key information and expert judgment
in computer software design and project planning. I will also learn to interpret theoretical,
practical and professional information and communicate knowledge, ideas and procedures to
both computer scientists and stakeholders. I will be able to employ independent learning
strategies to update own knowledge in the field and keep pace with innovations in computer
science techniques, industry trends and standards. I will also be able to work as an individual
and as a member of a team in a manner consistent with ethical and professional standards.
With the immense growth of information technology, there is a huge demand for individuals
with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of information technology. Master of
Information Technology will open a wide range of career opportunities within a range of
organizations: across the commerce, industry, government, and semi government sectors. I
personally believe that earning an Australian recognized postgraduate degree at University of
Wollongong is a major commitment of time and money, but it is also a down payment on
success.
IT in Pakistan is a growing and rising industry that has a lot of potential. The scope of
information technology is getting more strengthened in Pakistan because of the inculcation of
technology in almost all the processes and in almost the entire industries of Pakistan. If we
analyze industries in which IT has made the impact, we will find that almost all the industries in
Pakistan are now relying on the processes of IT in their procedures, either the industries are of
textile, banking, manufacturing and education all these industries have shifted themselves and
their processes on the advancement of the technology which has produced the need of experts
in the computer science and information technology which has further empowered and polished
the scope of IT in my country. My proposed degree will provide my real-world experience and
will help me to develop problem solving skills, expertise in analytical and communication
which will provide me an opportunity to pursue my career in my field, getting highly paid jobs
in national and multinational organizations in Pakistan.
After completion of my master’s degree from University of Wollongong, I am looking forward
to secure my place as a Data Scientist, Software Analyst, and IT Consultant in any renowned IT
organization in Pakistan. For Instance: Arpatech is one of the top IT companies in Pakistan
which is providing business solutions to customers worldwide and is the largest Software
House in Pakistan. Folio 3 (helps Entrepreneur and small enterprises), GCS (working against
crimes and bring the crime rate down). Other companies include Nayatel, Ovex Technologies,
i2c Inc (High Tech Telecommunication Company) etc. All these organizations have highly paid
salary rate and offer to start monthly salary of PKR 180,000/- to PKR 250,000/- to foreign
graduates. I would like to mention that a local graduate earns about 80,000 PKR whereas a
foreign graduate earns starting monthly salary PKR 180,000. In Pakistan, IT professionals with
foreign qualifications are getting lot of job opportunities and are in high demand.
After completion of Master’s Degree, my objective is to hunt a respectable job in Pakistan. I am
family oriented person and I am the only person going to Australia to attain my higher studies.
My mother played a vital role and always been my support and helped me a lot in pursuing my
higher studies. She wants to see me a successful IT Professional in Pakistan. After completion
of my proposed program, I will come back to Pakistan to serve my country and will do my best
to fulfill my mother’s expectations. Moreover, I will have a brighter future in Pakistan in my
field. My mother is a landlady and has sufficient income to support my studies in Australia. Net
worth of her assets is PKR ………………..and I have handsome inherited share in his assets as
per Pakistan Law and Islamic Sharia. This shows that I have strong economic and family ties to
Pakistan as my family and moveable/immovable assets are in Pakistan. Moreover, I will have a
bright career here in Pakistan after completion of proposed course and I will definitely come
back to Pakistan and will start my career in Pakistan.
I don’t have any visa refusal and rejection from any country. I am single and will travel to
Australia alone.
I know student visa obligations which include:
 Student cannot work more than 40 hours per fortnight when your course is in session
(other than work which has been registered as a part of the course).
 Attend the classes on time, regularly and maintain more than 80% attendance in each
enrolled course along with meeting requirements of each course.
 Student must maintain adequate arrangements for health insurance during your stay in
Australia.
 Student must tell your education provider:
o The address where you live in Australia within seven days of arriving in
Australia
o If you change the address where you live within seven days of the change
o If you change education provider within seven days of receiving the electronic
confirmation of enrolment certificate or evidence of enrolment.
