EDI in engineering and its importance.
• What does EDI mean to you?
• EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) ensures fair treatment and opportunity for all. It aims to eradicate prejudice and discrimination
on the basis of an individual or group of individual protected characteristics.
• Why it is important in engineering?
• It makes organizations, including those active in engineering, more competitive and efficient.
• What do u think the engineering community should be working to improve?
• provide a supportive environment where women can share their experiences, knowledge and skills with one another, encouraging
growth and development to advance in their careers.

Yes, it does because this group has no females, where there is gender inequality.
What adversity do they face? As the group lacks females, finding their perspective is hard.
• How and why did you choose your focus?
Because overall, the groupmates do not face any adversity, and in all ways, we are equal.
Except there isn’t any female groupmate where all our groupmates face adversity. So, I chose Gender as my focus.
• Present any data that demonstrates a lack of equality or diversity for this group ?
Women are highly valued and supported due to their fewer numbers compared to their male equivalents in certain
specialisations, the
presence of women is often highly appreciated and valued. As an example, for its scientific policies, the European commission
actively encourages its member states to source extensively amongst their female talents.
• What is the impact on society
It has been noticed that women generally opt for particular studies or professional activities because of the impact those
studies or activities have on social issues. As an engineer, you will be actively contributing to resolving major societal issues.

Society will always need engineers to progress on numerous fronts; as a result of this you will benefit from genuine job security
and attractive salaries.

• The Global Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion team are a division of Boeing that is dedicated to the hiring of minority groups and
ensuring the best possible working conditions for them.
• In 2021 the GEDI team gave $3.4million to black communities and universities in America through grants, scholarships and other
schemes.
• Altogether since 2020, the team has invested $30 million in organizations focused on racial equity and social justice.
