I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson students should be able to:
K- Recall what is thought-provoking question;
S- Perform a panel discussion;
A-Value the importance of thought-provoking questions.

II. Subject Matter

Topic: Raising thought provoking question in a Panel Discussion.
Source: English 7 Quarter 3- Module 7
Materials: Power Point Presentation, Laptop, Flashcard.

What is a thought-provoking question?
Very good now, do you have your assignments with you?
Again, what are the steps in making a thought-provoking questions?

1. Research your topic

2. List down your question
3. Create your cue card
How about the characteristics of a good question?
1. Relevant
2. Clear
3. Concise
4. Purposeful
5. Guiding but not Leading
6. Stimulates Thinking

Before we start our panel discussion let us first have a warm up activity.

 Motivation:
Directions: The class will be divided into two groups and each group will have a five
 representative to play in front, the representative will be the player and the rest will be the
one to guess.

Group Activity
Directions: With the same group choose a leader to choose and toss coin to be the one to
pick a topic first. The group will have a five representative to perform a panel discussion.
The audience should prepare a question to ask the panelist related to the topic.

Now I will give you 10 minutes to get ready.

The importance of having a thought provoking question leads to an informative and

successful panel discussion.

IV. Assessment

Directions: Match the challenging questions from Set A to the possible answers in Set B.
Write your correct answer on your formative notebook.

Set A
1. Why are women more likely to get depression?
2. Do children experience depression?
3. Can lack of sleep cause depression?
4. Is it possible for someone who recovered from
depression able to experience it again?

Set B
A. No. Lack of sleep alone cannot
cause depression, but it does play a
role.
B. Having experienced an episode of
major depression does out a person
at greater risk for future episodes,
but not everyone who has recovered
from depression will experience it
again.
C. Yes. Children are subject for the
same factors that cause depression
in adults.
D. If left untreated, various types of
depressive disorders can lasts for
months or sometimes years.

as often as men. One reason maybe
the various changes in hormone
 levels that women experience.
