Activity 2
PHYSICO-CHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF WATER
A. pH Determination
On our experiment, I observe that used water and mineral water are almost
has a same color which is shades of green while the leftover drinks had a color something
like darker shades of red. And based on the guide of the pH indicator, after we done putting
the juices of violet camote leaves in a water sample, the results and its water color and
clarity of Mineral water and used water are belongs on the alkaline line and the leftover
drinks is on the acidic lines.

B. Water Turbidity
In this part of activity, we perform it in part of Pasig River in Mandaluyong. For
Reading 1 we got a 20cm depth of the water where the Secchi disk is no longer visible and
30cm on Reading 2 which have total average reading of 25cm. And based on the guide
25cm is the turbidity is becoming excessive where it is more dangerous in our health and
also for some animals.

GUIDED QUESTIONS:
1. Research on the ideal physical and chemical properties of water. Cite your research
as a reference. According to water quality standards, does the physical and chemical
analysis of water samples meet the standards?
In our three samples which is leftover drinks, mineral, and used water I can say that
they have reached the standard quality of water. One of those are the Physical
characteristics of water we know that water is colorless but colour can also show a
organic substance and can be pollution. And in a Chemical property of water, pH of
water is measured between 0 and 14 to determine how acidic or alkaline it is and we
got the pH level of each sample.
2. Do you think your water samples have passed or failed the standards of good water
quality?
In our conducted experiment, the results of each water sample are failed to meet the
standard of good water quality.
3. Based on your analysis, what do you think will contribute to water quality?
Poor water quality can lead to health issues, including gastrointestinal illness,
reproductive problems, and neurological disorders. Infants, young children, pregnant
women, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems may be especially at
risk for illness.
When the water is tested to evaluate its quality, you can find out what toxins are
there and how they might harm the health of the user or the environment's residents. in
order for you to select how to clean up.
CONCLUSION
Water quality is one of the most important factors in a healthy ecosystem and in
human beings. Clean water supports a diversity of plants and wildlife. Though it may seem
unrelated at first, our actions on land affect the quality of our water. And we as human
demand for freshwater to live. In conclusion, drinking good water quality is a very important
thing to our bodies’ health. Not only human, but also all of the organisms need water to
survive.
