 Autobiography

My Family
I was born into a family of three. My father is an engineer
whose liberal attitude toward me teaches me how to stand in
other's shoes. And my mother is a teacher who taught me to be
independent and to take responsibility for my deeds. Another
thing I learned from her, is, "The attitude determines the alti-
tude." I love my family. They don't just put food on the table;
they also tell me what to do and where to go when I'm lost.

My Characteristics

Although I'm not the kind of person who pursues the lat-
est trends, but I can see the world from my point of view. I'm
not the one who follows the others blindly; I'm capable to think
independently and seek for the truth.
 Autobiography

My Hobbies & Talent

I have extreme enthusiasm and gifted talents in language

learning. I've been very sensitive to voice since I was little. I
have a good memory of the words and sounds that I have ever

heard; therefore, I gained vocabulary quickly. Also, thanks to my

habit of reading when I was little, I performed well with ease in

language learning. However, not until junior high did I get inter-
ested in languages. I used to play online games with my friends.
As I communicated with other players, I got lots of opportuni-
ties to practice foreign languages and acquired different cul-
tures, such as daily life and verbal expression in other countries.
Since then, foreign languages were not just words in textbooks
but keys to communicating with the world. By interacting with
foreigners, I've cultivated excellent English listening and speak-
ing skills, my sharp ears also gave me an edge of comprehen-
sion to communicate well.
 Autobiography

I've chosen Applied Foreign Languages as I my major at

senior high school. When I got spare time, I started to learn
about Spanish and the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries
by reading, watching Spanish series, and listening to their pop
music. Also, I proved my extraordinary language skills through
the TOEIC English test and DELE Spanish test. Thanks to the un-
restricted and convenient learning environment, I got to get in
touch with some Russian and French on the Internet. And
sometimes I’ll enjoy French cuisine and Russian pop music. I'm
fortunate to have such an opportunity in language learning. I
hope to advance my studies at the university and put my exper-
tise into practice by joining your department.
 Autobiography

My school life
I have a colorful school life in senior high. I've participat-
ed in many activities since first grade. Though I had to be the
clown in those plays, the experience not only made me an
open-minded person but also unleashed my potential. I've
learned that there's nothing that can stop me from challenging
more possibilities in my life.

My club activities
I, a movie lover, had joined the "Dubbing Club" in senior
high. Thanks to my fluent English, I was luckily chosen to partic-
ipate in a dubbing contest. While preparing for it, I had learned
the importance of teamwork and mutual support. As we
worked as one, we'd won the prize of Honorable mention. From
then on, I consider I should choose what I love and believe in
myself.
 Why do I choose your department?

1. While playing multi-player online games, I always read

many instructions for the games or talk with other players in
English. During the process, I find that I am highly interested in
translating. Since the game industry is looking to expand inter-
nationally, it is necessary for the game companies to train more
translators. Language is the key to exploring this world. By ma-
joring in English, I believe it can help me pave the way to find a
job matching my specific knowledge in the future. Hence, your
department is my best choice.

2. Your department not only offers basic English courses

but also western culture and linguistic curriculum, which enable
me to trace back to the roots of language studies. Additionally,
the translation and secondary foreign language courses fit well
with my interest. Your department offers me a wide choice of
careers, where I can put my expertise to use.
3. I always wanted to study in the central part of Taiwan
because of the mild climate and friendly citizens there. I'd be
very appreciative if I were admitted to your department.

High school to freshman

1. Before the courses start, I'll solidify my skills in grammar to
catch up with the courses smoothly.
2. I'll read those reading materials recommended by foreign lan-
guage departments to improve my sense of literature.
3. I'll train myself with more advanced techniques of computer,
such as programming or data processing to adapt to the era of
technology.

Sophomore
1. I'll especially work on the writing courses of your department
and participate in project writing with a view to composing
better works.
2. I'll utilize those multi-media platforms (YouTube, podcast,
etc.) to improve my translation skills by running channels and
exchanging ideas with the online community.

Junior
1. I'll improve my verbal, reading, and writing skills in English,
and integrate what I learn into practice.
2. I'll maintain a good grade and performance to compete for
the chance to be an exchange student because there's a bigger
world out there waiting for me to explore.
3. I'll acquire certificates of higher levels in secondary languages
to prove my excellence in language study.

Senior to work

1. I'll look for opportunities to work as an intern in language-

related industries on job hunting sites and gain work experi-
ence in advance.
2. I'll make plans for working part-time abroad to broaden my
horizons. Also, I may enter graduate school if more knowledge
is needed. Finally, I'll pursue the career of an interpreter as I’ve
dreamed of.
 自傳
關於我 我們一家三口，父親是一位土木工程師，平常在全台各地
奔波，為的就是希望我在求學階段能夠衣食無憂，他以開
家庭概述 明的態度教育我要時時為他人著想，期望我能具有一技之
長並能實踐人生的自我價值。 母親從事教職，採民主式
的教育態度並給予我適當的自主權，要我學會做決定、獨立，且對自己的行為「負
責任」，時常鼓勵我多閱讀課外讀物。為了營造閱讀環境，家中藏有不少古今中外
的文學作品及繪本讀物，使我自小受到文學的薰陶。母親常教育我：「品行修養是
優先考量；態度決定你的高度」。也因父母的教誨，我學會了謹言慎行並告訴自己
要做個懂事孝順的兒子。我愛我的家人，他們不僅僅提供我溫飽，也使我懂得待人
處事應對進退的道理。他們總是能在我感到困惑時伸出援手，讓我能勇往直前 。

與眾不同 我是個不追求流行的人，雖然無法在我身上找到最新流行
的事物 ，但卻可以發現我有一份屬於自己坦然穩重的氣
我的特質 質。我也不是個喜歡人云亦云的人，在聽到任何話語時我
會獨立思考，判斷事情的真偽並擁有自己的想法 。

綻放自我 我對語言學習有著無可自拔的熱愛，以及與生俱來的天
賦。我從小就對語音十分敏感，對語言與聲音的記憶力較
興趣與專長 強，聽過便不會忘記，因此能快速累積字彙量，也因為從
小有閱讀的習慣，在語文的學習上比較輕鬆也成績優異。
但真正燃起我對語言的興趣卻是在剛讀國中的時候。那時我常常跟著同學與朋友們
玩線上遊戲，也因為與他人溝通，我接觸到外國的語言與文化，如外國的日常生活
及用語，讓我認為外語已經不只是課本上的知識，更是與世界溝通的工具。 在與外
國人交流時，我逐漸養成了熟練的英語聽力與口說能力，我敏銳的聽覺也有利於理
解與溝通。上了高中後我選擇了應用外語科英語組，在我行有餘力時，我開始藉由
各式管道學習西班牙文及西語系國家文化，例如以書籍自學、觀賞西語劇集以及聆
聽西語流行歌曲來作為我的第二外語，使我的世界觀更加多元。並且透過多益英語
檢定及西班牙語 DELE 檢定來證明我的語言實力，也因自由的學習環境，讓我通過
網路自學的方式對俄文、法文有初步的接觸，如法國的美食、俄國的民俗及流行音
樂。在學習語言這條路上我很慶幸能得到這麼多機會，也期望未來大學學涯能繼續
探究、精進語言學習，能夠運用多語言的優勢了解各語言背後的文化，幫助我打開
探索世界的大門。
 開發潛能
高中多采多姿的活動豐富了我的校園生活。從高一
校園生活 開始便參與了許多活動，像是迎新嘉年華、萬聖節
變裝大賽、校慶萬國嘉年華會、祈福包粽影片演出等等。參加這些動態活
動時雖然常要扮醜耍寶，和我平時的形象不同，但也讓我從一個內斂害羞
的人蛻變成為一位能大方展現自己的人，開發了我未知的潛能。這讓我明
白人生不能自我受限，希望在大學時能夠以這些經驗挑戰人生更多的可能
性。

擇我所愛 熱愛觀賞影片的我，在高中時加入了語言表演社，
因擁有英語聽力和口說的優勢，很幸運的得到老師
社團活動
與同學的青睞，得以參與英語配音比賽。在社團練
習活動努力鑽研如何發揮語言聲調、語氣的變化讓影片更生動，並且在與
隊員準備比賽的過程中我學到了團隊合作以及互相體諒的重要，使我獲益
良多。在大家同心協力下 ，在 2019 年全國高中職學生英語配音比賽勇
奪團體獎佳作的殊榮，讓我驗證了「擇我所愛，從不後悔」的生命歷程 !

 申請動機
自從國中開始玩線上遊戲後，燃起了對於英語翻譯的高度興趣，隨著
線上遊戲市場國際化，遊戲產業也逐漸產生對英語翻譯人才的需求。語言
是探索世界的關鍵 藉由學習英文我能夠打開最廣大的市場 貴系所開設的
課程 能提供我最好的學習環境。

一、個人興趣選擇所愛

我對英文及西語、法語等第二、第三語言有極大的學習興趣。語言是
全球化的基本工具，基於自己對語文以及翻譯的熱愛，應用外語系是我的
最佳選擇。

二、校系特色符合需求 畢業出路多元

貴系除了提供一般通識課程外，更有開設有關歐美文化及思想、英語
語言學課程，使我能夠了解所學語言的根本起源；西洋文學與寫作讓我能
夠對英語領域更加深入。另外中英翻譯以及口譯以及第二外語選修 更是
我未來所十分需要與感興趣的。再者，貴系提供的課程讓我在畢業後有廣
泛的出路 例如運用所學的專業就職，或繼續升學往更高深的領域鑽研。

三、放眼未來
由於我對外國的影音作品及文化非常感興趣，另外，我在外語方面的
表現比較突出，因此我希望未來能夠從事英文翻譯、口譯，藉由翻譯使中
外文化交流。期待來貴系就讀能助我達成未來的志向。
四、學習環境
1

我一直夢想著去台灣中南部讀書，除了我喜歡那裡溫和的氣候和熱情
友善的人文風情，能遠離家鄉到外地求學，也能訓練我更獨立，培養未來
為自己的生活做規畫決策、解決問題的各種能力。
高中畢業前~大一
讀書計畫
1.紮實必修科目，奠定基礎：於課
程開始之前，先行查閱系上課程資 大三
訊，蒐集相關資料閱覽以利適應學習
新學程。 1.加強英文會話，閱讀及寫作再將所
學與實務融會貫通且整合應用。

高中一、高二參加了不少的科內演出，例如高一協辦了祈福包粽活
動；高二參與了迎新嘉年華，從這些活動中增進了隨機應變能力、與同
學間的合作能力以及在舞台上穩健的台風。
