Career Research Paper


One career I am seriously considering pursuing is a diesel mechanic because it is a career

that I have always wanted to do. I feel that it is a job that fits me. I already have a job as a diesel

mechanic, but I want to go bigger. I want to own my own shop/business. I love to get my hand

dirty and I can work hard.

Thinkers:Considering the options that are open.

Knowing the various treatments that someone can have.Insert knowing about money/debt and

thinking outside of the box.Builders:They like to use tools and they are not afraid to get their

hands dirty Good with using their hands when they're building a house or putting something back

together Creators:Like to design things that come to their mind.Diesel mechanics highly into the

importance and significance of their work. Like researching things that someone tells them to do.

The education required for being a diesel mechanic. Having a high school diploma or a

GED. It's required to go to a diesel technician program to get your certificate. It's needed to

know basic knowledge on how to use hand tools, and to know the different parts of the engines

and know how to fix them.

Skills needed to be a diesel mechanic. Having great communication skills, there are

always people coming in and needing their car to be fixed. There is always someone that wants

to talk about what's wrong with their truck. Creativity is one of the biggest things needed to be a

diesel mechanic. There is always something that needs to be done, and most of the time they

need to think outside of the box to get it done.

Salary for a diesel mechanic, the average salary for a diesel mechanic is between 60,000

and 120,000. The benefits of being a diesel mechanic is that anyone can work their own hours.

Another benefit is that they can work at their own pace; there's nobody telling them when they

need it. The promotions are based on how long they have been working and how many hours

they work.

Some positives of becoming a diesel mechanic. I think the money is pretty good, anyone

could make a living out of it. Also everyone works their own hours, but the less hours they work

the less money they get. Some negatives being a diesel mechanic is very dirty there's always oil

and grease all over you. When someone just started being a diesel mechanic their pay isn't a lot.

Diesel mechanic is a job that a lot of people don't want to do. People that are a diesel

mechanic have to love what they're doing, if someone doesn't like being a diesel mechanic then

they should noy be doing it. The average salary is between 60,000 and 120,000 dollars a year. To

become a diesel mechanic they need to either have a high school diploma or GED, Also they

need to have to go through a diesel technician program and get their certificate. It's a very dirty

job but when they have been working for a while the money will have been worth the wait.
