Subject: India's G-20 Presidency & 10-Days calendar of activities in Schools up to 25 of
May 2023.
Sir,
As you are aware that India has assumed the Presidency of the G20 and our country
being one of the most aspirational nations across the globe. This is an opportunity for our
students to understand their country in a global perspective and therefore, our schools
should leverage this period for the benefit of the students.
In this regard, Directorate of School Education Kashmir earlier issued two calendars
of activity for Schools under G-20 & Y-20 for the conduct of Debates, Seminars, Painting
Competitions, Quiz Programmes, Slogan writing competitions, Online lectures, Group
discussions etc., & it evoked overwhelming response from Teachers & Students and almost
5 lakh students 40,000 teachers and around ten thousand schools participated in these events
and the events culminated with the Divisional Event on Y20 conducted by this office on 9 th
of May & the International event on Y20 in Kashmir University on 11th of May 2023 in which
the 30 student toppers from the schools of Kashmir Division participated.
Some more activities need to be taken up in schools under G-20 banner for the
awareness & the capacity building of students which would augment to the learning
outcomes of students as envisaged in draft National Curriculum Framework 2023, for instance
Environmental Awareness, Peace Building & Reconciliation, Health, Wellbeing and Sports,
Scientific attitude, Community Service, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction,
Sanitation & Hygiene.
In order to ensure student & community participation in India's G20 Presidency, a
10-Days calendar of activities is issued for all Government & Private Schools up to 25th of
May 2023 & afterwards the activities as per the calendar should be continued in the schools
periodically.
As such you are requested to mobilise all school heads to conduct these activities in
letter & spirit w.e.f 16th of May 2023 without any laxity.
