As a BS Criminology scholar and in today’s modern engagements, with the

onset of digitalization, what can you do in your own way to lessen or
prevent criminality at home, your immediate surrounding, inside the
campus or in the community?

As a BS Criminology scholar, I can take various measures to prevent and

lessen criminality in our immediate surroundings, campus, and community,
especially with the onset of digitalization.

I must Educate myself; the first step is to educate myself about the various
types of crimes, including cybercrime, online fraud, and identity theft. Stay up-to-
date on the latest trends and techniques used by criminals, including how they
use technology to commit crimes. Second is to Spread awareness, by the of use
social media and other platforms to spread awareness about different types of
crime and how people can protect themselves. I can also organize seminars,
workshops, and community events to educate people about the importance of
cybersecurity since I’m adopting self-leadership. Also, to Secure online presence,
we must use strong passwords, keep your software up to date, and be cautious
about clicking on links or downloading files from unknown sources. We can also
use anti-virus software and firewalls to protect our devices from cyber threats.
We must build a strong network of trusted friends, family members, and
colleagues who can turn to in times of need. Encourage others to do the same,
and promote a culture of trust and support within the community. Then to Get
involved like to Volunteer the time and skills to community organizations that
work to prevent crime and support victims. Also, to participate in community
policing programs or neighborhood watch groups.

Overall, as a BS Criminology scholar, I have the knowledge and skills to

make a positive impact in preventing and lessening criminality in our community.
By taking proactive measures and encouraging others to do the same, I can help
build a safer and more secure society.
