I have been working for the aforementioned
company for a period of nine/ 9 months as
Assistance Optical Technician.
Duties Taken in the Lab
Working with two machinery thus smoothing
& polishing machines.
Checking the lenses that they are correctly
supplied according to the doctor’s
prescription.
Able to calculate the powers using the stated
bases on the lenses both right & left.
Able to read and understand the demands of
the prescription from the doctor.

Able to work with different types of lense thus

single vision, bifocals & muitifocals.
 Able to supply the correct laps from the
laboratories.
Able to put protecting tape to the lenses both
right and left.
Able to put the axis on the lenses according to
prescription from the Optometrist.
Able to block the lenses using metal blockers
and alloy.
Able to generate the lenses in supervision of
my senior technician.
Able to smooth the lenses using smoothing
machine and smoothing pads.
Able to polish the lenses after identifying that
the lens are ready for polishing using the
polishing machine as well as polishing pads.
Able to identifies that the lenses are fine by
having a clear look to them and then brought
the lens to the next stage thus cutting and
fitting to the frame.
