Revision and Proofreading

As in any other piece of academic writing, it’s essential to redraft, edit and proofread your assessment before you
submit it.

Text Layout
● Your report should be MS-Word processed (handwritten assessments are not accepted)
● Font: Times New Roman, Size: 12, Line spacing: 1,5
● Your report must have page numbers (the bottom center is recommended)

Word Limit
● The word limit of your assessment is 1600 (±10%) words (not including appendices and references).
● The word limit for this assessment excludes the list of references at the end of the report. Still, it includes
all text in the main body (including direct quotations, in-text citations, footnotes, tables, diagrams, and
graphs).
● Please be aware that exceeding the word limit will affect the academic judgment of the piece of work and
may result in the award of a lower mark.
● Appendices are not considered a supplement and will not be assessed as part of the content of the report.
They will not contribute to the grade awarded; however, it may be appropriate to use an Appendices section
for any material which is a helpful reference for the reader. Appendices are not included in the word count.
● References should come from academic sources (e.g., journal articles, conference papers, reports, etc.),
although you can also utilize area-specific textbooks. You must ensure that you use the APA referencing
style (7th edition). References are not included in the word count.

Submission
● This is an individual assessment, not a group task.
● The submission of the essay is due by the end of Week 7, Sunday 11:59 pm (23:59 hours) VLE (UTC) time
on the due date at the latest, and it weighs 40% of the final grade. The passing grade of this module is 60%.
● You are advised to submit your work as a draft and check the Turnitin Index of your assignment before the
final submission deadline to prevent and detect plagiarism within your writing. By applying Turnitin to
your final work (by firstly submitting it in draft), you can check the originality of your work against the
expansive Turnitin database. You can then edit and submit the final version of your document by the
stipulated deadline.
● The essay will be submitted via Turnitin and must be in PDF format.

on the VLE before your coursework submission deadline.

Extenuating Circumstances
● It is important to note that extension requests for assessments must be requested to your tutor in a timely
manner before the deadline. The responsible tutor may request proof of the circumstances and the decision to
approve or reject is at the sole discretion of your tutor.

Academic misconduct, including plagiarism

● Your assignment should reflect scholarly writing and APA Referencing standards (7th edition). Be sure to
adhere to Academic Integrity Policy by avoiding plagiarism through text-citing and acknowledging other
authors' work.

● Ensure that you are familiar with the relevant regulations regarding academic misconduct. By submitting the
assessment, you declare that it is your own work and that the material and sources of information used,
including internet sources, have been fully identified and properly acknowledged.

● Academic Integrity Policy: Students are expected to demonstrate academic integrity by completing their
own work, assignments, and other assessment exercises. Submission of work from another person, whether
it is from printed sources or someone other than the student; previously graded papers; papers submitted
without proper citations; or submitting the same paper to multiple courses without the knowledge of all
instructors involved can result in a failing grade. Incidents involving academic dishonesty will be reported
to university officials for appropriate sanctions. Furthermore, students must always submit work
representing their original words or ideas. Suppose any words or ideas used in an assignment or assessment
submission do not represent the student’s original words or ideas. In that case, all relevant sources must be
cited and the extent to which such sources were used. Words or ideas that require citation include, but are
not limited to, all hard copy or electronic publications, whether copyrighted or not, and all verbal or visual
communication when the content of such communication originates from an identifiable source.
● More information on the above can be found in the Student Help Center.

Good luck!
