Create Definitions on Sophos Firewall

In this simulation you will create IP host, FQDN host and Service definitions on Sophos
Firewall that can be used in firewall rules, VPNs and other configuration.

Review the information at each stage and follow the instructions to advance to the
next step.

Start
Connect to the WebAdmin of the Sophos Firewall
Type https://lon-gw1.sophos.local:4444 into the address bar then press Enter
Simulation
Login to the Sophos Firewall as admin, the password is Sophos1985!
Simulation
Select SYSTEM > Hosts and Services in the left-hand menu

Click Add to begin creating a new IP host definition for a network

In the ‘Name’ field enter NewYork-192-168-16
In the ‘Type’ field select Network

In the ‘IP address’ field enter 192.168.16.0
Click Save
Simulation
Click Add, to begin creating a new IP host definition for a single device
Simulation
In the ‘Name’ field enter London DC
In the ‘IP address’ field enter 172.16.16.10, then click Save

Select the FQDN host tab

Click Add, to begin creating a new FQDN host definition for the public hostname of another Sophos Firewall, New
York Gateway

In the ‘Name’ field and the ‘FQDN’ field enter ny-gw.sophos.www
To add this FQDN host to a group, in the ‘FQDN host group’ field click Add new item

You can select an existing group; for this simulation you will create a new one
Click Create new

In the ‘Name’ field enter Sophos Gateways
Click Save
Simulation
The definition will automatically be added to the group you have created
Click Save

Select the Services tab
Simulation
Click Add to begin creating a new definition for the WebAdmin TCP port 4444

In the ‘Name’ field enter WebAdmin
In the ‘Destination port’ field enter 4444, then click Save

You have now created IP host, FQDN host and Service definitions on the XG Firewall
