Briefly identify and discuss the contribution of Greek Science on the development of Science and
Technology.

Numerous scientific and technological advances were accomplished by the Ancient Greeks. Greek
philosophers started to adopt new perspectives on the world. They developed hypotheses about how the
universe operated and believed that the natural world adhered to a set of rules that could be observed and
understood via research. The gear, screw, rotary mills, bronze casting methods, water clock, water organ,
torsion catapult, use of steam to run several experimental machines and toys, and a chart to identify prime
numbers are among the inventions attributed to the ancient Greeks.
2. Discuss the Impact of the Industrial Revolution on Science and Technology.

In modern history, the Industrial Revolution was the transition from an agrarian and handicraft economy to
one dominated by industry and machine production. These technological advancements brought about unique
working and living arrangements and radically altered society. It sparked innovation in healthcare with the
development of the iron lung and resulted in the introduction of commercially viable industrial machines as
well as a new, safer method of mining. It was not simply a period of remarkable innovation, but also one of
great growth, as seen by the unprecedented increase in global population. Increased air and water pollution
would arise from factories spewing smoke and smog into the atmosphere as well as releasing pollutants and
chemicals straight into rivers and streams. The use of coal and other fossil fuels increased during the
Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution was primarily characterized by technological, economical, and
cultural developments. The following were some of the technological advancements: the use of new basic
materials, primarily iron and steel; the use of new energy sources, such as coal, the steam engine, electricity,
petroleum, and the internal-combustion engine; the invention of new machines, like the spinning jenny and
the power loom that allowed increased production with a smaller expenditure of human energy; and a new
system of work known as the assembly line, The growing integration of science into industry, as well as five
significant advancements in transportation and communication, including the steam locomotive, steamship,
vehicle, airplane, telegraph, and radio. The mass production of manufactured items and a greatly expanded
utilization of natural resources were both made possible by these technological advancements.

3. Briefly identify and discuss the role of the Renaissance period on the development of science and
technology.

Leonardo da Vinci, William Harvey, and Andreas Vesalius made important advances in the study of anatomy
during the Renaissance, laying the framework for modern medicine and keeping science relevant during an
age of arts and culture. The Scientific Revolution was just getting started at this point in the Renaissance. The
contemporary science was said to have begun with this revolution. Three highly regarded scientists developed
laws that scientists still apply today with the use of the telescope. The printing press, linear perspective in
drawing, patent law, double shell domes, and bastion strongholds are only a few of the significant technical
innovations that define this period. The Renaissance saw the development of both the telescope and the
microscope. This was brought on by advances in lens manufacturing. With the introduction of the printing
press and an increase in readers, these better lenses also aided in the creation of spectacles.
