I. INTRODUCTION

Resonance in AC circuits implies a special frequency determined by the

values of the resistance , capacitance , and inductance. For series
resonance the condition of resonance is straightforward and it is
characterized by minimum impedance and zero phase. Parallel
resonance , which is more common in electronic practice, requires a
more careful definition.
An electric circuit which has very low impedance at a certain frequency.
Resonant circuits are often built using an inductor, such as a coil,
connected in parallel to a capacitor. The response of the circuit to signals
of different frequencies is a function of the inductance and capacitance
of the circuit and peaks at one frequency value, at which the current flow
resonates most strongly with the input signal. Resonant circuits are used
in radio and television tuners to pick out broadcast signals of specific
frequencies.

resonant frequency?

the current increase when the frequency increase

2. From the graph of Figure 7.9, what can you say about the current at the
resonant frequency?
when the frequency increase, the current inreases

V. Data analysis and interpretation

For run 1, we observe the behavior of the resonance by

creating a series resonance circuit. After creating the circuit, we input all
necessary inputs that we have and use voltmeter and ammeter to gather
the data of the current and voltage that we collected.
Trial Frequency VR VL VC IT
1 100 0.8 0.8 7.1 5.57mA
2 200 1.2 1.5 6/8 10 .45mA
3 400 2 2.9 6.0 18.15 mA
4 600 2.4 3.8 5.1 22.85 mA
5 800 2,7 4,5 4.6 25.18 mA
6 1000 2.8 5.0 4.3 25.96 mA
7 1200 2.8 5.4 4.4 25.77 mA
8 1400 2.7 5.8 4.5 25.15 mA
9 1600 2.6 6.1 4.8 24.20 mA
10 2000 2.3 6.3 5.1 23.03 mA
After each trials we increases the frequency and record all the
measurements that we gathered until the highest suggested frequency is
reached.
After plotting the graph from data that we collected we can clearly see
the behavior of the series resonance circuit, therefore we can conclude
that the as the frequency increases the total current increases too.

Trial Frequency IRL IRC IT

1 100 18.6 mA 6.1 mA 42.9 mA
2 200 18.5 mA 9.9 mA 43.9 mA
3 300 18.3 mA 15.8 mA 47.6 mA
4 400 18.1 mA 16.9 mA 51.6 mA
5 500 17.9 mA 17.6 mA 54.7 mA
6 600 17.8 mA 18.1 mA 56.7 mA
7 700 17.7 mA 18.3 Ma 57.9 mA
8 800 17.5 mA 18.4 mA 58.3 mA
9 900 17.4 mA 18.5 mA 57.9 mA
10 1000 17.2 mA 18.5 mA 56.8 mA

In Run 2 we created a parallel circuit resonance we then also input all

the necessary data to start the experiment, same as the first run we still
use the ammeter and the voltmeter to gather the measurements and
then record it in the table.

As we can see in the table after we plot the data that we gathered , we
can observe that the result of the parallel circuit resonance is same as
the series circuit resonance as we increases the frequency the current
rises too.
VI. Finding and Conclusion
After we conduct the experiment, We have gained knowledge about
and familiarity with the behavior of resonance in a circuit after doing
this experiment. Resonance refers to a system's tendency to oscillate at
higher amplitudes. The frequency of this system is known as the
resonant frequency since it is at its maximum level under these
conditions. Any sort of wave or vibration is connected to this frequency.
In conclusion, resonance occurs when two interconnected objects share
the same vibrational frequency. When one of the objects is vibrating, it
forces the second object into vibrational motion. The result is a large
vibration.
