Visually inspect Air Inlet Rain Hood and Bird Screen. Mechanical DONE

Carry out Detailed Gas Generator External Inspection especially

Inspect the static oil level in the intake guide vanes ram and

Inspect GG air intake (intake flare, extension rings, front bearing
housing, starter fairing,) as per para 10.2 chapter 6 of GEK
maintenance manual.
Pay special attention to checks mentioned at Para 14,chapter 7 of GEK

Check IGV linkage and bushing for freedom of movement –Remove
linkage pin and operate the IGV’s by hand.
Check for freedom of movement or excessive play in linkages and
bushings. Restricted or tight movement is not acceptable
Remove and inspect the oil feed filter for cleanliness as instructed in

5. Gear Box
Check all systems hoses, fittings and pipe work for degradation

Attend filters on oil circuits as under.
1. Change (if required) on-line filter elements on filter located
on GG lube oil supply, hydraulic supply and PT Cool down
supply lines (wherever fitted)

Check the air inlet systems for degradation and moisture buildup.
Visually inspect Air Inlet Rain Hood and Bird Screen. Replace filters

in GG air intake and in ventilation system (if required). Check seals
around door and lubricate hinges.
Inspect all joint bolts on the air system for tightness. Visually
inspect system welds for failure and /or cracks. Inspect intake Mechanical DONE
flexible joint assembly.
Check the interior of the GG enclosure/Plenum. Look for signs of
corrosion and flanking paintwork in the plenum. Look for any
“sunlight” in the plenum. Refer GEK 28156k. Check all lights fixture.

Check operation of the door proximity switches and adjust if
necessary. Inspect the GG enclosure/plenum access door
gasketing for wear and deterioration. Lubricate door hinges.
Carry out functional test on automatic transfer on stand by unit for
Ventilation fan. Check tension on fan belts (if used) in enclosure
ventilation system. Check operation of the back-draught dampers Mechanical NA
to ensure free movement of the damper blades. Lubricate
dampers.
Visually inspect the exhaust expansion joint assembly to ensure
the unit is in good working order. Check for leakages between the

check gaskets for wear or deterioration.
