2 PURPOSE
The purpose of these instructions is to guide users through the initial setup of Okta on their
computer.
3 PROCEDURE
Use the following procedure to perform the initial setup of Okta on your computer:
1. Navigate to https://login.cia.gov or click the link in the Welcome email from Okta.
2. Enter your network username and password.
You should see a notification that this is your first time logging in.

3. Click Sign In to begin your profile setup.

4. In the Create your CIA account window, answer information in each section to complete your
one-time profile setup. This allows you to verify who you are should you need your password reset
or account unlocked.
A. Choose a security question and enter an answer for a forgot password.
B. Choose a security image.
C. Click Create My Account.

5. Click OK to proceed to the CIA/Okta landing page.

Your assigned applications will display in the Work tab. The red banner that states the Okta
plugin is required is optional. You may click Install Program if you want to install the
password management tool.
