The qualitative type of data studies in-depth information where the researchers cannot
measure, express, or count them using figures or numeric form. Qualitative data obtain its
information from pictures, images, and audio and data visualization tools such as infographics,
graphs, concept maps, and databases. Qualitative research facilitates the achievement of
qualitative data (Greckhamer et al., 2018). The researchers define it as a research approach with
a narrative and reflection of the perspectives and realities of subject objects on the ground.
Generally, qualitative research is a vital aspect of the qualitative data type that involves
conducting epidemiological studies in a suitable research area and with the target population.
Investigation of research nature is made more accessible by the population's ability to avail
insights that can be translated into opinions, values, and norms in a particular set of participants.
In most cases, the qualitative data obtained from the qualitative research and study is
voluminous and as a result, overwhelms the researchers. This is mainly attributed due to its
rigorous data complication and collection procedures which requires a developed and well-
defined data management and organization system. Therefore, it is advisable to review some of
the crucial strategies to assist the researchers in organizing and managing such kind of qualitative
data systematically.
In this case, two important and helpful strategies assist the researcher in data
organization. They include using the data coding method and condensing data into a more
straightforward form. Data condensation is a strategy that involves the selection, emphasis, and
transformation of data into its simplest form (Maher et al., 2018). It also involves obtaining an
abstract of the collected data during data observation and research process, followed by

condensing such data into simple data sets rather than carrying out massive data analysis, which
can result in many errors and inaccurate information. Due to the nature and the method of data
condensation strategy, it is recommendable for all the overseeing individuals and those utilizing
the method to closely supervise the process to ensure total adherence to the various steps used
during the process. Overseeing the process is crucial because qualitative data depends more on
the side of the researchers as it applies where there is a need for deployment of more than one
code. It is also a method of obtaining proper control over the collected data to ensure security
and validity.
The other strategy applicable to managing and organizing data into a simple form is
developing and applying codes to data. According to research, data coding involves a
transactional process between the data collection and analysis by putting the collected data of
interest into their respective groups. Code development and application to the management and
organization of qualitative data can be conducted through various coding approaches, such as
using traditional methods like deploying cabinets and folders during filling (Williams & Moser,
2019). In addition, to the advancement of technology, the provision of alternative ways to the
traditional coding of data is through the utilization of software that facilitates the automation of
data. One of the automatic software utilized in the coding of data is NVivo. After coding the
data, the researcher can now categorize and review the codes based on the data analysis
simplification terms and common patterns hence achieving the management and organization of
data.
