Most teenagers don’t know what career they want when they finish school. Instead of making
such a big decision at 18, they should work or travel for at least a year before going to
university.

 You agree with the idea above.

 You disagree with the idea above.
 Plan your arguments. Think about how to support your position.

Debating with my partner we are in disagreement with that sentence. Because

some people hope to obtain a university degree because they seek to study careers
such as health, biological, administrative or engineering areas and it is necessary
that they study at a university. But not all of them are looking for a university
degree, if not a technique that allows them to study and work and even travel. Also,
most university programs teach a lot of theory and therefore you may not get
practical experience in a subject you are studying. That's why many college
students don't have job-relevant practical experience when they finish college, and
they get that experience when they work or do an internship.

Also, a college degree is not a guarantee that you will get a job in your field after
completing your studies, but it does help open doors in the world of work.

That's why it's important to ask ourselves the pros and cons of college as it means
you need to think carefully before choosing that path. If you're drawn to college
because you think it will help you get a well-paying job, you should think about the
career you'd like to pursue and research the various ways to get there. If you
cannot take a year of working experience, since this decision is important in your
life.
