Project Title: Development of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Pipes Using Bamboo Pipes
as a Low-cost Alternative for Hydroponic Vegetable Production
Research Cluster: Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology
Project Adviser: Dr. Michael A. Aloria
Co-Adviser
Research Main question: What is the effectiveness of the treated bamboo pipe
Questions: as an alternative pipe? Specific question:
1. Does the product meet the sustainable development goal?
2. What is the efficiency of the treated bamboo pipe?
3. Why is treating the bamboo important?
Research This study aims to produce a Bamboo Pipe that will replace Polyvinyl
Objectives: Chloride (PVC) Pipes as a primary material for Hydroponic Vegetable
Production. The specific objectives are as follows:
1. To determine the necessary materials for treatment to prolong
the resistance of Bamboo Pipes.
2. To design a proper framework of the Bamboo Pipes in a
Hydroponic Vegetable Farm.
3. To find a cost-effective way of producing treated Bamboo
pipes.
Resources Needed: Bamboo, Water Tank, Hydroponic Farm, and Water Source
Are the existing facilities at the College sufficient to carry out this project work? (Yes)
Does the student need special training to use any College lab equipment? (No)
