What are (PPE) Personal protective equipment?

PPE", is equipment worn to minimize exposure to hazards that cause serious workplace injuries
and illnesses.

What can be done to ensure proper use of personal protective equipment?

All personal protective equipment should be safely designed and constructed, and should be
maintained in a clean and reliable fashion. It should be inspected by competent person to ensure
its in safe working Condition. It should fit comfortably, encouraging worker use.

Why Do You need to inspect PPE (Personal Protective Equipment’s)?

PPE can lose its effectiveness or become damaged due to exposure to grit, dirt, chemicals, UV
light, misuse, or general wear and tear. That's why regular inspections are essential for making
sure that the PPE is fit for its purpose, in date, and fully compliant.

Providing uninspected PPE is very dangerous and could be lethal for the user, in case of any
failure.

What are the legal requirements for PPE?

As per EIAC (Emirates international Accreditation Centre) list of Mandatory Scope – Regulation
No. 02 issued under 2010, PPE should be inspected by an EIAC Accredited Inspection Body.
