Section i: Safety Information

Before operating this machine you must read the


Safety instructions in the suppliers operation
manual.

SAFETY INTRODUCTION.
All personnel who operate this equipment must be trained to correctly and safely use it as it was
intended.

Before operation the operator's must:


(i). Have received specific and adequate training in the task to be carried out.
(ii). Have read and understood the Fintec Operation Manual and the Safety signs on the Machine.
(iii). Know the location and function of controls and safety features such as remote Machine Stop
buttons and isolator switches.
(iv). Be aware of all moving parts on the Machine.

WARNING ! Even when working with low voltage electrics and batteries, special care must be
taken when carrying out maintenance or repair.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY.

While this equipment is rated at only 24 volts safety should not be taken lightly. This equipment can
cause serious burns and injuries if connected wrongly or if tampered with.
Remember batteries can explode.

(i). Never work on the electrical system of any equipment unless you are thoroughly familiar with
the systems details.
(ii). Work on the electrical system must only be carried out by a suitably qualified personnel.
(iii). Special care should be taken when disconnecting, replacing and/or charging the batteries.

Ensure that the batteries are re-connected correctly. Contact across the terminals can cause sparks
or explosions.

(iv). The electrical equipment of the Machine should be inspected at regular intervals.

Damaged cables or loose connections must be repaired immediately. Use only the manufacturers
replacement parts with the specified current rating, especially fuses.

(v). Isolate the batteries when welding on the Machine.

Before operating this machine you must read the


Safety instructions in the suppliers operation
manual.

TO SHUT DOWN THE MACHINE.

The Control Panel can be shut down using any of the following features:

Machine Stops located around the machine


1 x Manual Tracking Stop
1 x Key switch on the Control Panel
1 x Radio Remote Stop (when active)

SAFETY BEFORE AND DURING OPERATION.

(i). Read and understand the Operation Manual before you start the Machine.
Study the DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION and IMPORTANT safety signs on your Machine.

(ii). Before starting walk completely around the Machine. Make sure no one is under it, on it or close
to it.
Let all other operators and bystanders know you are starting up and do not start until everyone is clear
of the Machine.

(iii). Ensure that all control levers are in the neutral position.

(iv). Check that all electrical connections including battery connections are fitted correctly and are
not damaged or worn.

(v). Only use Remote stop buttons or Remote stop lines (if fitted) in Emergency situations or during
safety drills.

(vi). Before moving the Machine ensure that everyone is clear from the surrounding area and that
the warning buzzer and beacon are operating correctly

Control Software

Introduction
• This overview manual explains the main menu
options for use on the 1080 Cone .

• Each section will identify the menu options


available and a brief description of each
function.

• All settings and procedures identified in this


document are accessed via the numbered
buttons on the display panel.
– To enter any command or access a
new sub-menu screen, simply press
the relevant button.
– To exit a particular sub-menu and go
back one level, press the ESC button
or a return button which will be
highlighted.

• Active programs/options are identified to the


user by a Green symbol .

1..Select Run Mode


Auto – software utilises pre-determined settings to start the machine and
functionality to commence operation.

Manual – this mode allows the operator to select particular functions and start
each operation in turn.

2..Select Tracking Mode


Tracking operation can vary between Manual tracking and Radio Remote
operation.
3..Service Log
Logging and viewing service history ,viewing fault log.

5..Engine
Displays engine information e.g. Running hours, engine speed, etc

6..Maintenance
This screen can only be accessed via a password and is used to run machine
features individually and set up machine run parameters.

7..Fueling
Switches fuelling pump on/off (optional).

8..Work Lamps
Switches work lamps on/off (optional).

This symbol indicates lubrication


oil is not at operating temperature,
and the lubrication heater has been switched on.
As the temperature increase the engine
speed will increase in set stages.

Auto Start Sequence


1. When the START option (Button 5) is pressed and no machine faults have been detected the engine
will automatically ramp up to 1400 RPM.

2. The lubrication pump solenoid will switch OFF to allow the lubricating pump to run.

3. After the lubricating oil has reach the correct operating temperature and level the siren will sound - after
7seconds the main conveyor will start to operate.

4. The crusher will start to ramp up to speed and the engine will go to full speed.

5. After the crusher has reached its pre-set speed and its last fixed CSS position the feeder will start.

Auto Stop Sequence


1. When the STOP option (Button 6) is pressed the auto stop sequence commences.

2. The feeder is the first operation to shut down.

3. After the feeder has stopped the crusher stops once the crusher drive pressure falls below a set value.

4. Within a preset time the crusher will stop, the engine will ramp down and the main conveyor will stop.

Output Diagnostic Screen

Press & hold OK button for 3 seconds to view diagnostic screen

Note: The Diagnostic Screen may only be accessed during Auto Run, Manual Run or in
Tracking Mode

The purpose:
Each feedback circuit provides details of voltage or current which relates to the normal
operating condition of the particular circuit.

From here it is possible to determine whether or not, for example, a function is actually on
or off, or if there is a short circuit in the overall system, etc.

These screens are beneficial if a problem occurs and an engineer is providing off-site
support.

Note: By pressing the arrow right button you can access the feedback on the machine
inputs, pressing the arrow left button will return to the outputs.

This screen is useful when checking for sensor input faults.

To exit the diagnostic screen the operator must press and hold the OK button for 3
seconds.

2.1 Radio Tracking Mode

Button 1…Radio Control Mode On/Off Switch


To turn on switch the switch to the position marked ‘I’
and wait for the green light to flash after a few seconds as
shown below.

Green light

Activate the Radio Transmitter by pushing the green button.


The siren will sound & beacon flash for 7 seconds then stop
and restart. This indicates that the 7second warning period
is over and the radio control is now ready for use.
The machine will now track using the two joysticks

Note: The operator cannot escape for this screen until all the buttons are in the off position and
the engine is at idle speed

Radio Signal Faults

• Lost Radio Transmission


– If transmission is lost or interrupted during
radio operation, the machine is shutdown
and this warning is displayed.
– This is reset by the operator by pressing
the OK button.
• Note: User must reselect the radio mode
option in the control panel if they wish to
continue using radio control.

• Radio E-Stop Shutdown


– This screen is displayed when the e-stop
function has been pressed on the radio
transmitter.
– To reset, release the e-stop button (pull it
out) and press the OK button on the control
panel screen.
• Note: User must reselect the radio mode
option in the control panel if they wish to
continue using radio control.

2.2 Manual Tracking Mode

Button 2…Manual Tracking Mode On/Off


When Manual tracking mode is selected the siren
will sound for 7 seconds, stop and then restart
indicating that the track directional switches on the
manual handset are active, allowing the operator
to track the machine.

2.3 Tracking Diagnostic Outputs

Press & hold OK button for 3 seconds to view diagnostic screen

Note: The Track Diagnostic Screen may only be accessed while in Tracking Mode

The purpose:

Tracking Diagnostic Inputs

Press & hold OK button for 5 seconds and press arrow right to view the track input
diagnostic screen

The purpose:
This provides a quick visual check on the input data and values relating to the tracking
functions

From here it is possible to determine whether or not, for example, a function is actually on
or off, or if the values are incorrect .

History

Hydraulic oil filter blockage is displayed if the monitoring system senses a filter blockage on the
hydraulic system as shown below.

To clear blockage indicator Enter 4 digit access code.

5.0 Engine Status

• Engine Status Mode displays all of the signals


from the engine ECU
• Temperature and pressure levels are
indicated in both graphic and text formats.

6. Maintenance Mode
Note: Access to this menu is limited and must be accessed via the security screen as per
Section 6.1 Each pass code consists of 4 digits. Input the pass code number using
the numbered buttons on the display panel. Contact your Fintec dealer to obtain
the relevant pass code to advance into technical information.

Note. When the crusher run functions have been selected the lubricating pump On/Off, crusher On/Off, oil cooler On/Off
and heater On/Off buttons will appear on screen. They will disappear after 7 seconds but any of these functions that had
been selected will remain on. Pressing Button 3. will display them again. To close the crusher run functions completely
all the functions must be in the off position. Then hold down Button 3. for 3 seconds.

6.1 Parameter Adjustment Screen

Increase/Decrease Values

Left/Right – Move cursor to select value for editing

Note: This screen is used to adjust the parameters within the operating system.

To alter parameters:
Select the parameters to be changed by Using the LEFT / RIGHT buttons this will move
the cursor to highlight the value to be edited.
Press the O.K button to select the value and then use the UP/DOWN arrows to increase
or decrease the value.
When the selected values have been adjusted press the O.K button to store the amended
value.
Exit the editing mode by pressing arrow right.

Machine Shutdown Faults
• Machine Stop Alarm
– Machine stop pressed on one of the
locations around the machine
– Release the machine stop button and
press the OK button to clear from screen.

• High hydraulic oil temperature


– This will stop the machine operating but will
allow the engine to run at idle to cool the
hydraulic oil.
– When the oil reaches normal temperature
the screen can be reset by pressing OK
button.

• Low hydraulic oil level


– This condition will cause the engine to shut
down to protect the system.
– When the oil level has been corrected the
fault be reset by pressing the OK button

Machine shutdown faults
• Hydroset Oil Level Fault
– This warning is displayed when the
hydroset oil level is low. This will stop the
machine operating. After correcting the fault
press OK button to reset fault.

• High Lubricating oil Temperature


– This warning is displayed when the
lubricating oil temperature is too high. This
will stop the machine operating.
– Press OK button to reset fault

• Low lubricating Oil Level


– This warning is displayed when the
lubricating oil level is low. This will
stop the machine operating.
– Press OK button to reset fault

 Lubrication Start Switch Fault


– This warning is displayed when the level of oil in
the lubricating reservoir is low. This fault will shut
the machine down when running or will not allow
start up.
– Press OK button to reset fault

Machine shutdown Faults
• Low Conveyor Speed
– This warning is displayed when the
conveyor speed has fallen below its
minimum allowed speed. This will stop the
machine operating.
Low conveyor speed – Press OK button to reset fault

• Crusher Position sensor fault


– When this warning is displayed the control
system has detected that the position
sensor is out of calibration. This will stop
the machine operating.

Machine Warnings
• Metal Detected Warning
– When this warning is displayed the feeder
will stop, as metal detector has detected
metal on the feed belt.
– Note: The feeder will restart when the
metal detector has been reset

• Worn mantle warning


– This warning is displayed with the crusher
shown in red indicating that the “A”
dimension is not within safe operating
distance.
