While showing Stand-by Screen,


press following key in order
simultaneously keep pressing
Function Key.

1. Press F2 key 1 time.


2. Press F3 key 1 time.
3. Press F4 key 5 times.

Then the display indicates


Maintenance Mode Screen.

the file name in CF card (Compat Flash Card).

5. Move the cursor to desire version by pressing ▲▼

6. The display indicates as the illustration on the right.

7. If the firmware version is correct, press F1 key


“ENT” to start overwriting.

The display returns Stand-By Screen by pressing F5

K12:
The updating takes about 2 minutes for Display
Firmware, 5 minutes for Main Firmware and 8 minutes
for Validator Firmware.

K4, K8:
The updating takes about 5 minutes for Display
Firmware, 5 minutes for Main Firmware and 8 minutes
for Validator Firmware.

8. When the update completes normaly, the display


indicates “Install completed normal termination.” or
“Succesfully completed update” as the illustration on
the right.

9. For K12, turn off and on the power.


For K4, K8, press F5 key “Exit “ and turn off and on
the power.

In case of Abnormal Termination
10. In case, the display indicated “abnormal
tremination”, there was a trouble during the
update.

11. Press F5 “Exit “ key. Turn off an on the power.


If the display does not indicates Exit, turn off and
on the power.

12. Enter the maintenance and perform Firmware


update again.

3-1 Memory Switch


1. Move the cursor to desired memory switch number
by pressing ▲▼ key.
2. Press F1 key “ENT” to indicate setting display.

The display turns to previous display by pressing F5 key

3. Move the cursor to desired memory switch bit by
pressing F1 and F2 key.
4. Press F3 key to set ON and press F4 key to set OFF

3-2 Load Country Setting


Setting for default Country.
1. Move the cursor to desired county by pressing
▲▼ key.
2. Press F1 key “ENT” to set the country.

The display turns to previous display by pressing F5 key


“Exit”.

Contents of Cuntry Setting are language, date


indication pattern, Fitness Sorting Level “Default
Setting”, CF Level “Default Setting”.

3-3 Genuine Chck


Setting of Genuine, Demonstrate and Test Mode.
1. Move the cursor to desired mode by pressing ▲▼
key.
2. Press F1 key “ENT” to set desired mode.

The display turns to previous display by pressing F5 key


“Exit”.
1.Genuine : Genuine Note Counting
2.Demonstrate : Specified Size Note Counting
Validator checks only note size for
demonstration.
3.Test : LAUREL Test Note Counting

3-4 Serial Code (K4、K8 Rev. 2, K12)


The machine serial number is set at default. In case
main board is replaced, set the serial number according
to the serial number label.

1. Move the cursor to the desired digit by pressing F1


key or F2 key and set number by pressing ▲▼ key.

2. Press F3 key “ENT” to complete the setting.

The display turns to previous display by pressing F5 key


“Exit”.

3-5 Main Default Load


Factory Use only.
Default setting of electrical adjustments for Main Unit.

1. Press F1 key “ENT”.

If pressing F5 key “Exit”, the display turns to previous


display.

3-6 Fitness Menu


This function is to arrange sorting pattern for Rev.1.
Setting sorting pattern for K4K8 Rev.2 refer to 3-1-9

1. Move the cursor to desired item by pressing ▲▼


key.

2. Press F1 key “ENT”.

If pressing F5 key “Exit”, the display turns to previous


display.
3. Move the cursor to desired item by pressing ▲▼
key.

4. Press F1 key “ENT”.

If pressing F5 key “Exit”, the display turns to previous


display.

5. Select the pocket pattern in the Mode by pressing


▲▼ key.

6. Press F1 key “ENT”.

If pressing F5 key “Exit”, the display turns to previous


display.

7. The display indicates the present pocket pattern.


Top right of pocket in the display is blinking.

8. Select a desired sort listed left line by pressing by


pressing ▲▼ key. The desired sort will be put at the
blinking pocket.

9. Press F2 key to set next pocket.

10. After the setting, press F1 ENT key save the


setting.

If pressing F5 key “Exit”, the display turns to previous


display.

Note) Be sure sorting pattern should not conflict the
logic.

3-6-1 Fitness Menu for K4K8 Rev.2, K12 Step.2


Select edit Currency from SC1 to SC4.
Edit sorting pattern have Auto Edit mode and
Fix Edit mode. Step.2
Select Auto (Auto mode) or Custom (Fix
Edit Auto Mode: (Press F1 key) mode) by Function F1 or F2.
Currency
Direction of sorting pocket automatically
selects in order of sorted denominations.

(Icon: Square)

Meaning of above icon is first counted


denomination.

Edit Fix Mode: Icon changed to Square Bracket


Edit Fix Mode: (Press F2 key) when press F2 (Custom).
Direction of sorting pockets fixed for each
denomination.

(Icon: Square Bracket)

Meaning of above icon [1] is highest


denomination. (Example: $100 for USD)

3-6-2 RJ Setting

1. Move the cursor to 2. RJ Setting by pressing ▲▼


key.

2. Press F1 key “ENT”.

3. Display indicates RJ Setting Screen.

4. Select desired reject reson by pressing ▲▼ key.

5. Select destination Unfit or Reject pocket by


pressing F1 or F2 key.

6. Press

The display turns to previous display by pressing F5


key “Exit”. Exit after setting.

Tape Lv (Level) setting

Fit Mode / ATM Mode:


Lv setting is not available in RJ Setting.
Set Unfit or Rejedt.

Note:
Tape detection setting for Fit and ATM mode is
available at Fittness Detail Setting.
Sort Mode / Face Mode / Issue Mode:
Lv setting is available in RJ Setting
When Lv was set, this setting has priority to Fitness
Detail Setting.

Lv0: Tape and CF Tape Detection are OFF.


Lv1: Tape Detection is OFF and CF Tape
Detection is ON.
Lv2: Tape Detection is the most less sensitive.
Lv10: Tape Detection is the most sensitive.

Caution:
This Lv level’s are same scale with tape setting in
Fitness Detail Setting.
If this Lv setting was made, Tape setting in Fitness
Detail Setting is not possible to change.
If it was set Unfit or Reject, Tape detection
functions according Fitness Detail Setting.

CF Tape setting

When Tape detection was set Unfit, the destination


of CF Tape is selectable CF pocket or Unfit pocket.

Reference: CF Tape
The counterfeit which is partly genuine bank note
may be jointed with long tape. Therefore such
long taped notes are specified as CF Tape note.
The destination of CF Tape note is selected
separataly from normal Tape note.

When Tape detection was set Reject, CF Tape


automatically set Reject.

CF Tape Lv (Level) setting

When Tape detection was set Lv, CF Tape level


changes according Tape Lv level.

Lv0: CF Tape Detection is OFF.


Lv1: CF Tape Detection is ON.
Lv2: as above

3-6-3 Issue RJ Setting

This setting is to select either accepting or rejecting


old issue of notes by each currency or by each mode
according to request of customer.

This function is to restore all setting in Fitmess Menu


to default.

3-7 System Clear
This function is to clear setting data.

3-7-1 Admin Password Clear

Purpous:
This function may be used, if Administrator forget the
password.
After clearing the password, it becomes default.

1. Move the cursor to 1. Admin Password Clear by


pressing ▲▼ key.

If F5 key “Exit” is pressed, the display turns to previous


display without clearing the password.

3-7-2 Fitness Setting Clear

Purpous:
This function may be used when updating Validator
firmware such as adding data for new issued
denomination along with security chip replacement.
Please follow the instruction for the subject Validaor
firmware update.

1. Move the cursor to 2. Fitness Setting Clear by


pressing ▲▼ key.

2. Press F1 ENT key.

3. Move the cursor to the desired currency by pressing


▲▼ key.

4. Press F1 ENT key.

After Fitness setting clear, the fitness settings for


subject currency become default.

3-7-3 CF Setting Clear

Purpous:
This function may be used when updating Validator
firmware such as adding data for new issued
denomination along with security chip replacement.
Please follow the instruction for the subject Validaor
firmware update.

This function is to correct Backup data by CF card
(Compact Flash Card) .

Sensor Check

2. Increas or decreas the light emittion by pressing F1 key

When the sensor correspond to the cursor is blocked,
the beep sounds. Turn on or off the beep by F3 key.
3. Auto Adjustment for the sensor correspond to the
cursor starts by pressing F4 key.

The display turns to previous display by pressing F5 key

Touch Sensor Test

The display invertes the area where you make a contact


with display.

sensors adjustment.

In case sensor adjustment failure, the display indicates


the number. Find the sensor correspond to the number in
blow table.
Perform sensor adjustment again after cleaning the
sensor which failed adjustment.

6-3 Adjustment Drive


1. Move the cursor to Adjustment Drive by pressing ▲▼
key. And Press F1 key “ENT”.

2. Move the cursor to desired motor.


Press F2 key to Start motor adjustment.
Then Press F1 to stop the adjustment.

3. Motor stops automaticaly when the adjustment was


completed normaly.

Adjustment of THM and MHM is only available.


In case adjustment is failed, the display indicates
abnormal termination.

The display turns to previous display by pressing F5 key
