CHAPTER 1- INTRODUCTION
Online learning is education that takes place over the Internet. It is often referred to as
“e-learning” among other terms. However, online learning is just one type of “distance
learning”- the umbrella term for any learning that takes place across distance and not in a
traditional way. It is one of the methods of education whereby most schools and universities
were using in the present time due to the pandemic, it is whereby students learn in a fully virtual
environment. It was first introduced in the 1990s with the creation of the internet and utilized in
distance learning, online learning also called e-learning which is most prevalent in higher
education, enabling students from different geographical areas to engage with an academic
institution and other students online and learn flexibly, at their own pace, while working towards
a degree or certificate. There are various e-learning apps that can be used, moodle, google Meet,
and google classroom as such.
Online learning plays a vital role in education during pandemic times. As time goes by,
It is said that the virus, without a vaccine, could take years for the global population to build up
sufficient levels of immunity. While there might be a significant difference in the number of
COVID-19 cases across the globe, there are currently more than 1.2 billion children in 186
countries affected by school closures due to the pandemic. In response to the said situation,
educators have been instrumental in finding new ways to ensure learning continues for children
by developing online and offline learning materials; learning about the working video
conferencing tools to be able to meet students regularly, and conducting mental and social well-
being sessions during the start of the school day and at closure.
Biliran Province State University uses online learning methods in conducting classes.
However, it also brought a big impact and problems to the students including the Second year
Bachelor of Science In Business Administration.
This research sought to investigate the sentiments of 2nd year BSBA students with
regard to the online learning method. Hence, the researchers are motivated to determine the
impacts gained from respondents based on the result of the study and the survey that has been
conducted. The findings from this study would be a great help to promote awareness among the
parents of the students, the school faculty and administration, and to all the students in the said
university. Through this research study, we will know what students are going through in online
learning, how it affects them positively and negatively, and what are their coping mechanisms.
The main purpose of this study is to determine the factors related to the impacts of online
learning on second-year BSBA students of Biliran Province State University.
The theoretical and conceptual framework presented in this section serves as the main
foundation in the due course of the study’s proceedings.

CHAPTER 2 – METHODOLOGY
This chapter describes the design, methods, instrumentation, and procedures used in the
conduct of the research. It includes the descriptions of the research design, research locale,
research subject, research instruments, data gathering procedures, and statistical treatment of
data.
Research Design
The study will be utilized the qualitative descriptive survey design as the main technique
focusing on the impacts of the online learning method, using survey questionnaires. This
approach will be deemed suitable as data concerning the present conditions involving impacts to
the 2nd year BSBA in Biliran Province State University will be gathered.
Research Locale
Research Subject
The subject of this study are the second-year students in the program of Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration. There were thirty (30) student respondents that were
randomly selected.
Research Instrument
The data used in this study are taken from the structured questionnaires accomplished by
the second-year students including the personal information of the respondents, the 1st part of
the instrument. The rest of the questionnaire assessed the probable impacts and reasons for
online learning. However, adjustments and modifications will be made by the researchers in
order to suit the needs of the proposed research.
The data will be tallied based on the various parts of the questionnaire. The frequencies
of the tally will be converted into percentages. The following statistical test will be used on the
analysis data. Data gathered during the survey were coded, analyzed, and presented in tabulation
using descriptive statistics as to relative frequencies and percentages. It is being converted into
percentages by the use of this formula:
P=f/N(100)
Where:
P= Percentage
f= frequency
N= # of respondents
Expected Results
It is expected that there will be a more positive impact of online learning education than a
negative one. Students will be more productive during online learning as well as they can
manage their time. Aside from the problems you may have during your online learning
experience, there are numerous perks and advantages to it. Some of the positive consequences of
virtual learning on students include increased learning efficiency, accessibility and affordability,
greater student attendance, and more. Through this online learning, they can enhance their
capability in accessing different online platforms in online learning education.
Implications
This study suggests that online learning education may hold significant potential for
increasing educational productivity. Online learning improves interaction since it allows teachers
and students to communicate in real-time. Online learning allows teachers and students, as well
as students and their peers, to build dynamic relationships. They can work together throughout
the learning process by effectively sharing ideas and information. Everyone in the virtual class
can participate in class discussions and offer feedback on other people's work. Despite not seeing
each other face-to-face, such interaction patterns improve the effectiveness of classroom
learning.
