Lesson 1: Understanding Plays.


Play – Is a story that is meant to be acted out for an audience
Script – Contains the cast of characters, stage directions, scenes and acts.
Dialogue – Is composed of the lines that the characters should deliver.
One-act play – Is a type of stage play where there is only one act.
Stage Directions – Italic or Parenthesis
Act – Is a scene done in one sitting and without intermission.

3 Elements of place:
Character – Is a person, animal, being, creature or a thing in a story.
Plot – Arrangement of events or incidents on the stage.
 Exposition – Rising Action – Climax – Falling Action – Resolution.
Setting – Time and place.

Lesson 2: Using active and passive constructions.


Verbs have two voices
1. Active Voice - when the subject of the sentence is the doer of the action.
2. Passive Voice - when the subject is the receiver of the action.”
Active Voice
The company made a huge profit.

Passive Voice
A huge profit was made by the company.

Changes in the Sentence


The subject in the first sentence is the company, and it is the doer of the action. In the second
sentence, a huge profit is the subject and it is the receiver of the action.

Active Voice – The dog chases the ball.

Subject Verb Object

Passive Voice - The ball is being chased by the dog.

Lesson 3:
Bias – An inclination toward something or someone. It can be established that human beings
tend to have an inclination or are born with preferences that can be good or bad.

Prejudice – If a person develops a preconceived opinion toward someone or something,


usually without knowledge of facts, and are unfavorable because of their sex, sexuality, gender
role, religion, social class, age, race, nationality, language, beauty, occupation, and other
affiliations.

Prejudice – (Purely Opinion) (Offensive) (Judgemental)


Bias – (OA PERO HINDI NAKAKASAKIT)

-If bias statement is proven with evidence then the bias may turn into justified opinion.
-It becomes prejudice if people start to undermine the opinion of others because of whop and
what it can do.
