A condenser receives 1000 kg/h of wet steam, 0.95 dry and at 38 °C. Air leaks into the condenser at

the rate of 10 kg/h. i. Determine the condenser pressure. This air is pumped out and carries with it a

quantity of saturated steam. ii. Calculate the mass flow rate of steam extracted, taking a condensate

temperature of 32 °C. iii. What is the volume flow rate of the air-steam mixture? Note that the

condenser pressure is kept constant by the air pump.
