Thank you for your interest in next year’s Sounds of Summit!

Please use the following checklist as you prepare for the audition procedure.

● You must have a teacher recommendation form filled out by 4 of your teachers
from last semester. (google form can be emailed to teacher.) Responses are
due May 23rd from the teachers.
● You must fill out the the audition form and have your parents email permission to
audition to chris.munce@lsr7.net
● You must perform at 60-90 seconds of an accompanied solo. If you need help
finding one to prepare, reach out right away. It can be a SUPER EASY song, like
Amazing Grace.
● You must write a one to two page essay in which you describe why being a part
of Sounds of Summit is important to you and what attributes you would bring to
the group. Please share a Google doc prior to May 23rd chris.munce@lsr7.net
● The auditions will include SRF level 6 exercise and tonal memory.

The audition is closed. Only the singer, Mr. Munce and Ms. Owen will be in the room. (Google
meet auditions will ONLY be available for students in quarantine by the district or County.) The
sight reading portion will occur in the meeting via screen share.

Please include a copy of your transcript and attendance records on the date of the
audition. You must have a GPA of 3.0 GPA or above or be willing to sign a very strict
academic performance contract to be in SOS.

Please be aware that if chosen, you will need to rent an evening gown or tuxedo. You will be
held to these critical expectations and asked to sign a contract.
● We rehearse on Monday evenings 6-8pm. (6:30-8:30 in the fall). You must attend all
rehearsals.
● Work will not be tolerated as an excuse.
● After one unexcused absence, you may be removed from the group. (A detailed contract
will be presented to singers upon acceptance to the group.)
● Conflicts with school activities will be expected to be shared equally.
All singers who are selected will be expected to attend the retreat on the Friday and Saturday
before the start of school.
