Committee 1
Emergency Meet of Indian Leaders, 1857
Special Committee

For over 200 years now, the British empire has ruled India. Through puppeteer rulers, arbitrary laws,
poor wages, heavy taxes, and other nefarious means, the British managed to gain a stronghold in the
country. Until now.

It is the 1st of April, 1857, and the Indians have begun to despise the British Raj. Multiple acts such
as the Doctrine of Lapse, The Religious Disability Act, General Service Enlistment Act, in combination
with relentless economic exploitation, have caused ensuing resentment among the Indians.

The introduction of the Enfield rifle went against the religious sentiments of the Indians causing
multiple sepoys to refuse to use it, as well as Mangal Pandey to attack the Adjutant of the 34th
Native Infantry.

The growing rate of unemployment coupled with the crippling Indian economy portrays the future
as a bleak one for the Indians. The sparks of a revolution have begun to spread across the country.

The British have mounted a reign of terror in India for too long now. The situation has come to a
boiling point. It is time for the leaders of India to decide if they want to stay passive and docile while
their motherland is being ripped apart or if they want to fight for their right to life, liberty and
freedom.

“We intend to debate on whether the leaders will decide to wage war? If so, then what
will be their plan of action? Who will be their leader?
Or
Solve the matter by discussing with the Britishers?”

Please note that this is a constant crisis committee.
