About JAIN (Deemed to be University)
JAIN (Deemed to be University) (formerly Sri Bhagawan
Mahaveer Jain College, SBMJC) is declared deemed to
be University under section 3 of the UGC act, 1956 by
the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the
Union Government vide notification No. F-9-57/2007-
U.3 (A) Ministry of HRD, GOI December 19, 2008 & July
24, 2009. Also it’s awarded Graded Autonomy with
NAAC A Grade and 85th rank in NIRF. It is promoted by
the Jain University Trust. Jain University Trust is
managed by the JGI Group. Headquartered at
Bangalore, the JGI Group represents a cluster of 85
vibrant educational establishments. After 23 years, the
Group is today home to over 45000 students and 4500
staff members engaged at the P - 12, Undergraduate &
Post-graduate levels across 64 campuses and Centres of
Excellence. The University offers Undergraduate,
Postgraduate and Research degrees in Arts, Sciences,
Engineering and Technology, Management and
Commerce.
About the Department
The department of Electronics and Communication
Engineering was established in the year 2005. At
present the faculty strength covers Navigation systems,
Wireless Sensor Networks, Power Electronics, signal
Processing, Digital Communication Systems and
Embedded Systems and VLSI, Computer applications,
Biomedical Signal Processing as their specializations.
They have wide experience in academics and industry.
Some of our faculty members are involved in research
work in different areas like Signal Processing,
Navigation system, Remote sensing, Communication
Systems and VLSI etc. The faculties always strive for
imparting better knowledge to the students. They work
as a team in all the departmental activities and never
compromise on quality and standards of teaching.

Jain Global Campus - Bangalore is well connected by
road, rail and air. It is located in Bangalore to
Kanakapura Road with a distance of 48 km from
Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic) and 52 km from
Bangalore Central Junction. It’s around 2hrs journey
from Kempegowda International Airport (Bangalore
Airport) .

participants from Government, Industry (Bureaucrats/
Technicians/ Participants from Industry etc.) and staff

Guidelines
• A test shall be conducted by coordinator at the
end of the program.
• The certificates shall be issued to those
participants who have attended the program with
minimum 80% attendance and scored minimum
60% marks in the test.
• Enrolment is based on the first come first serve.
• Registration is online through ATAL portal

OBJECTIVES
Teaching-learning is an important process in academic
institutions. Transfer of knowledge takes place from
the teacher to the students only when the teaching is
effective. The young teachers and scientists need
orientation and training in effective research. Jain
Deemed to be University is organizing this 5-day FDP on
“GPS/GNSS with a focus on NavIC in Indian Region”.
This FDP will provide a platform for the exchange of
new ideas, thoughts, and realizations on navigation
system and its applications. Reputed experts from
premier Organizations/ Universities around the country
will be the resource persons.
TOPICS
Topics covered by this workshop are Basics of
Navigation system, Satellite Based Augmentation
system, Different navigation system of the world,
Navigation System Based Applications such as location-
based application commercial applications aviation
application, reflectometry, Navigation System spectrum
protection and intereference detection and mitigation,
Navigation system and space/atmospheric weather
monitoring, Navigation system Reference Frames/
Systems and Reference Station Networks with respect
to GPS/IRNSS(NavIC)/GAGAN, Along with hands on
session with receivers and field trips to make the
workshop more effective.
