Question #3: How were the people behind heliocentrism able to convince the public about it?

They were able to persuade the public of heliocentrism—the notion that the sun is the solar
system's center—through Galileo Galilei. By creating his telescopes, he contributed to the
validation of Nicolas Copernicus's theory that the sun, not the earth, is the solar system's center
of gravity. Galileo noticed four moons orbiting Jupiter, which provided confirmation for
Copernicus' heliocentric hypothesis. Every night, he plotted the positions of the four Medicean
stars. Galileo eventually realized the "stars" were actually moons orbiting Jupiter. Galileo also
saw Venus's phases, which demonstrated that the planet revolves around the Sun. Despite the
biblical concerns that his detractors raised, he was still able to compile evidence to support the
Copernican concept.
