Lights for a Sustainable Future

I. Rationale

Street lighting is an essential component of urban infrastructure, as it enhances safety,

facilitates transportation, and encourages community engagement. Unfortunately, the
absence of adequate street lighting in Nalsian Centro, Calasiao Pangasinan, poses
significant challenges to the well-being and development of the community. Without
proper illumination, the streets become hazardous, especially for pedestrians and
motorists, leading to an increased risk of accidents and crime. Additionally, limited
visibility during nighttime restricts social activities, negatively impacting the community's
overall quality of life. In order to address these pressing issues and create a sustainable
future for Nalsian Centro, the installation of solar-powered street lights is proposed.
Solar power offers numerous advantages over traditional electricity-powered lighting
systems, making it an ideal choice for this project. The objective is to raise funds
through a creative approach, such as collecting and selling reusable items to local junk
shops, to cover the expenses associated with the installation.

II. Project Description

The purpose of this project is to install solar-powered street lights in Nalsian Centro,
Calasiao Pangasinan, as a sustainable and efficient lighting solution. By transitioning
from traditional electricity-powered street lights to solar energy, the project seeks to
enhance safety, promote sustainability, improve the quality of life, achieve cost
efficiency, and foster community engagement by encouraging active participation.
Through the collection and sale of reusable items, funds will be raised to support the
installation of solar-powered street lights. Through this initiative, we seek to create a
safer, greener, and more vibrant environment, empowering the residents of Nalsian
Centro with a sustainable lighting solution.
III. Project Objectives

The following are the aims of this project:

● To enhance safety and security of residents in Nalsian Centro,
● to promote sustainability and renewable energy that can contribute to a more
sustainable and environmentally friendly community,
● and to foster community engagement and participation by collecting and selling
reusable items to raise funds for the installation of solar-powered street lights.
