1. How do you normally travel to work or school? What is the

journey like?
I usually travel to school by motorbike. Since my home is quite close to
the university, my commute (di chuyển) is relatively easy and fast. It only
takes me about 5 minutes to commute from my home to the university by
motorbike.

2. What's your favourite way to travel? Why?

"I enjoy traveling by motorbike because it is fast, comfortable, and I don't
like traveling by car."

3. Is your country hotter or colder than the UK?

My counry is hotter than the UK, especially (đặc biệt) during the summer.
In Ho Chi Minh City, for example, the temperature can reach nearly 40
degrees Celsius."

4. Is driving better than flying for you?

"Driving helps me to get around quickly, and it is less expensive than
flying. If I have to travel a long distance (k/c địa lý), then flying would be
faster. However, overall I still prefer driving, especially riding a
motorbike."

5. What is the most famous city in your country?

 ‘HCM city. Besides, there are also other famous cities in Vietnam such as
Da Nang, Hanoi, Hue, and many more.’’

6. Tell us about the town you come from?

"I come from Tra Vinh city, which is located in the southern (phía Nam)
part of Vietnam. This city is known for its beautiful paddy- field (đồng
lúa) and is a simple countryside town where the people are very friendly
and welcoming."

7. Which city you know is the most expensive?

"Hanoi is a luxurious city (tp xa hoa)"

8. Do you spend more time with friends or family?

Family

9. Do you usually use cash or credit cards? Why?

"I use cash instead of credit cards because I usually eat at simple eateries
where paying with cash is more convenient."

10. Talk about a journey you made?

"I recently took a trip to visit my relatives (họ hàng) in Binh Duong two
weeks ago. I traveled with my boyfriend, and it took us about an hour to
get there. Then, we had breakfast at a Pho Bo restaurant and then went to
see my relatives. We had a pleasant conversation and had lunch at their
house. The trip ended well, and we returned to the city on the same day."

11. What is the most expensive/ beautiful city in VietNam?

 The most expensive city in Vietnam is Ho Chi Minh City, followed by
Hanoi.

12. What is the best place to eat in the area where you live?
"I am currently living in Ho Chi Minh City, where are famous street
foods such as Banh Mi, Banh Xeo, Pho, Bun Bo, Banh Trang Tron, and
many more."

13. What is the biggest city in VietNam?

The biggest city in Vietnam is Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon,
with a population of over 8 million people.

14. What is the most beautiful place in VietNam/ Ho Chi

Minh City?
Vietnam has many beautiful places, and Ho Chi Minh City is no
exception (ngoại lệ). Some notable attractions in the city include the
historic Notre-Dame Cathedral (nhà thờ đức bà), the Independence Palace
(Dinh Độc Lập), and the Ben Thanh Market. In addition, there is the city
of Da Lat, famous for its many flowers, or the city of Da Nang, famous
for BANA HILLS.

UNIT 8

1. Tell us about festival that happens in your country.

In my country, there are many festivals throughout the year, but Tet
Nguyen Dan or Lunar New Year is one of the most famous and important
festivals. "It takes place at the beginning of the Lunar New Year, which
falls in early January." It's a time for family reunions (đoàn tụ) ,
traditional customs, and festive decorations. There are many fun activities
such as dragon dances (múa rồng), and fireworks (pháo hoa) to welcome
the new year.

2. What are your favorite clothes?

My favorite type of clothing is loose-fit t-shirts and shorts, or leggings. I

like wearing them because they make me feel comfortable.

3. What are you wearing today?

Today, I am wearing the uniform of the Food Industry University that I

am currently studying at.

4. When you buy clothes, what is most important for you?

When buying clothes, the most important thing to me is the style of the
clothing (kiểu áo) and the type of fabric (loại vải) used.

"I like to buy shirts with simple designs, and the colors I usually choose
are black, white, or brown. And I prefer cotton fabric."

5. Have you got long or short hair?

I have long brown hair.

6. Are you tall or short?

I'm not very tall, only 1 meter and 50 centimeters.

7. Describe your best friend’s appearance

 My best friend is a girl. She is taller than me with long black hair and she
wears a ring. She has been my roommate since we started university, and
she is studying Information Technology. She is also very friendly.

8. What thing did you like when you were a child?

When I was a child, I enjoyed playing with my friends every day and not
having to study too much.

9. Think of a photo you have anh say why you like it

I have a photo of my family that I really like. I love my family very

much, and every time I am away from home, that photo reminds ( làm
nhớ lại) me of them and how much I miss them.

10. Have you ever been to an amazing festival or other

event?

I once attended (tham gia) a gala of the Information Technology faculty

( khoa) that I am studying at in the university. There were a lot of lively
performances ( tiết mục biểu diễn sống động) and fun activities. "That
was the first activity I participated in after I moved to the city to attend
university."

UNIT 9

1. Do you enjoy going to the cinema? Why ? why not?

I like going to the cinema because I get to watch movies on a big screen with
a loud sound system

2. Are you going to the cinema or theatre this weekend?

I don't have plans to go to the cinema or theater this weekend because I am

busy, I have some important exams coming up and I need to review my
lessons.

3. How often do you watch videos online?

I usually watch online videos on TikTok, Facebook, or YouTube.

4. What was the last film you saw?

The last movie I watched was a Vietnamese film called "Lat Mat 6" directed
(đạo diễn) by Ly Hai. "It is a type of action-comedy film that is
thrilling."This was also a very popular movie during the recent (vừa qua)
time.

5. What type of film do you like best?

I enjoy the horror-comedy (hài kinh dị) genre (thể loại) the most because it is
exciting and stimulating (kích thích) for viewers with a mix of scares and
laughter.

6. Are there any kinds of film that’s you don’t like? What are
they?
 I don't like the anime animation genre the most because I find it boring.

7. Would you like to made a film in the wild?

Yes, that's an interesting opinion. I could create videos about wild animals.

8. What are your plans for this weekend/ your next vacation?

My plan for this weekend is to study and prepare for my upcoming exams. I
will also spend some time on a date with my boyfriend.

For my next vacation, I plan to go back home to visit my family.

Yes, I do. I love to view various forms of art such as paintings, sculptures,
music, and so on.

I enjoy studying math, history, and English.

I have never been on a camping holiday, but I would try it if I have the

I like traveling because I enjoy going to new places and trying the local

"It's a summer holiday when I get to visit my family and have fun in my

There are a lot of tourists visiting my country. Some famous destinations
that attract tourists are Danang city, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi.

People in my country usually go back to visit their families during
holidays, or they can choose to travel domestically (du lịch trong nước) or
internationally(du lịch ngoài nước).

your country?
Yes, that's correct.

There are 7 time zones in my country.

you?
No, I only bring one suitcase (vali) of clothes and necessary items (đồ
dùng).

I prefer a holiday where I can arrange everything for myself. "Because I
like freedom, I don't want to follow someone else's arrangements (sự

"The worst holiday I ever had was when I was 12 years old during the
summer. I took a long bus trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat. Because
the trip was quite long and I had to sit on the bus continuously for about a
day, I felt very tired and I didn't feel like enjoying the holiday."

11. Have you ever stayed anywhere that had no electricity.

"I lived in a place about 10 years ago that had no electricity, and we had
to use solar power and candles instead of electricity

12. What do you look for when choosing a hotel?

I look for a clean hotel with a parking (bãi đổ xe) lot and restaurant,
friendly staff, and reasonable prices (giá hợp lý). "I want a hotel that is
close to dining options." ("Tôi muốn một khách sạn nằm gần các địa điểm
ăn uống.")

13. Where do you usually go on holiday?

I usually go back home to visit my family during holidays. "Because I
think after a long period of working hard, I want to spend time with and
love my family more. "

I like to travel with my family because I want to relax and have fun with
my family members.

"I like to have a beach vacation because I can enjoy the sea view, swim
and eat seafood there, and it would be even better if I go with my family.
It's a great holiday for me."

I think the best place to visit in Vietnam is Danang with Bana Hill. It is a
famous destination (địa điểm) with beautiful architecture (kiến trúc),
delicious cuisine (ẩm thực), and friendly people.

17. What Vietnamese foods should tourists eat?

beef noodle soup, pho, mixed rice paper, bread, and spring rolls (gỏi
cuốn).

18. What place should tourists visit in HCM city?

In Ho Chi Minh City, there are: Nguyen Hue walking street, Ben Thanh
market, and Independence Palace.

1. Would you like to visit the Arctic or Antarctica?

I don't want to go because it's too cold there.

2. What are the hottest and coldest temperatures you have

ever experienced?
The hottest temperature I've experienced is when water boils (nc sôi) at
100 degrees, and the coldest temperature is a freezing ice cube (đá lạnh)
at 0 degrees.
3. Do you think the climate will change in the future?
Yes, I think the climate will change in the future. "Because of
deforestation (phá rừng), pollution of water, air, and soil, the Earth has
been warming up and climate change."

4. In the future do you think temperatures will be higher or

lower than now?
I think temperatures will be higher than now because the Earth is getting
warmer due to climate change, melting ice at the poles (băng 2 cực tam
chảy), and rising sea levels.

5. What things do you think you will do in the future?

I think I will participate in planting (trồng) trees in the forest, reducing
plastic waste, using bicycles instead of motorbikes to reduce air pollution.

6. Do you think people will ever live on another planet?

I think humans in the future may be able to live on a planet similar to
Earth where there is life.

7. Would you like to visit another planet as a tourist?

Yes, if I have a change , "I want to visit the Moon and Mars." (Tôi muốn

I have never traveled alone. I usually travel with my family or friends. "It

festival on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street .

I have been in an accident before. My car collided (va chạm) with another
car, and I fell to the ground. Fortunately (may mắn), I was only slightly
(nhẹ, 1 chút) injured, scrape (trầy xước) on the skin

 Fortunately, I have never failed an exam, but there have been some times
where my test results were not good.

I once won a dance competition (cuộc thi) when I was in high school.

than they are now?

Yes, I do. I can recycle plastic and glass bottles into flower vases.

I plant trees in my garden, use paper bags instead of plastic bags, and
drive an electric car.

I will become a software engineer (kỹ sư phần mềm) in the future.

"I am currently living in a normal house without any floors (lầu), and it has a
spacious yard (sân) where I grow vegetables."
