Task Description
◻ You will be required to write an extended response to an unseen question on Module B: Critical Study of
Literature -Prescribed Text - Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
◻ You will need to have a thorough knowledge of the novel

Instructions/preparation
● Ensure you have read and understood the module description
● Ensure that you have an understanding of how distinctive elements of Austen’s narrative shape meaning
● Ensure you understand how Austen’s use of textual structures, language and stylistic devices are crafted for
particular purposes, audiences and context
● Prepare for this task by consulting your student booklet, revising essay structure, accessing/revising digital
resources, completing class tasks and having a thorough knowledge of all of the prescribed text
● Independent research (avoid plagiarism) will consolidate your knowledge
● Revise College advice about Curriculum and Assessment on pages 28-32 of the College diary and in the Year
11 Assessment Handbook; revise College Glossary of Key Words, page 35 of the College diary . No notes will
be permitted

All provisions apply to the in class task and will be administered by the teacher supervising the task. Students will be
contacted by email regarding their provisions if they have a reader or writer for the task.
