Film Analysis – The Social Network

Responding to Texts
● Informational, analytical, imaginative, interpretive, and/or persuasive in purpose.

● In responding to texts, students consider ways in which the authors, readers, and viewers of texts use
language and stylistic features to make meaning and influence opinions.
● Students also develop an understanding of ways in which texts are composed for a range of
purposes and audiences.

Purpose
● To analyse and evaluate the conventions used to explore themes in film texts (purpose, context and
audience)

Task Description
- Write one Body Paragraph of approx. 266 words for each question
- Question 1
- Choose a scene to discuss how the director uses film techniques to influence the audience.
- Question 2
- How does the director use film techniques to show character development?
- Question 3
- Is Zuckerberg the hero or the villain of the film? Discuss referring to film techniques

Assessment Conditions
● Written response up to a maximum of 800 words.
