SUPPLY

DIRECT COMPETITORS, EXISTING COMPETITION

 Existing businesses that sell cakes and pastries catered towards pet cakes. Our product pupcakes
are most likely to attract customers and competition. Pupcakes are not commonly what is seen
sold in the market that we have grown accustomed to; our products are not only for human
consumption but is also for dogs.
 Our direct competitors which are Furbaby Cakes, Whole Pet Kitchen, and Pet Stuff & Shoppe are
Pupcakes' three main competitors. Their products can be a substitute to what we have to offer
as their products are far more specialized in creating pet cakes and treats specifically for dogs.
 Our target customers are mostly people that are of the 18 to 28 years old age bracket that are
interested in cakes that can satisfy them and their pets. Without having to buy separate cakes
and instead they can share it to avoid additional expenses.
 Our product Banana Pupcakes has the opportunity to grow as a business. The potential demand
for our product is not relatively high and not low either. The purpose of Banana Pupcakes is to
give our customers the option to buy a cake that benefits both them and their pets, the safety of
the product is guaranteed for it’s been carefully researched to create a cake safe for dogs, the
price is fairly reasonable for it’s quality is assured that it is worth the price. We firmly believe
that conducting this business will create competition in the market, as time goes, we may also
create varieties for the customers to choose from if the business continues to expand.

HISTORICAL DOMESTIC SUPPLY/ SUPPLY GROWTH PATTERN

 The Pupcakes main ingredients are composed of banana, honey, and yogurt mixed in to the
batter, the other flavor is carrot pup cake. Considering the ingredients used the contrast of
sweetness and blandness will be balanced it is not too sweet and not entirely bland.
 As much as possible all the ingredients to be used in making pupcakes are within reach and
found domestically to avoid inconsistent quality of the cake.
 Looking for suppliers of the ingredients should be properly researched and conduct trial and
error using different brands to produce the highest quality of cake and finalize the product to be
produced.
 Investing in foreign imports would also help distinguish what stands out in our product, as the
business continually grows so does the market and the customers invested in our products.
 Once the business expands and steadily earns enough income to allocate resources, franchising
will be an option and start selling to other countries. As for the country that we would like to
accommodate US would be a great start.
 USA is a huge country and from what we’ve observed Americans are very fond of their dogs they
celebrate their barkdays (dog’s birthday). Introducing our product will surely interest them.
Pupcakes will become a form of connection for both the owners and their pets to share a fond
memory of their special day.

Figure 1 shows the assessment of the respondents on the survey Banana Pupcakes as a sweet
treat for the Fur babies in Las Piñas City. The question “I usually buy treats for my pets” obtained
a total of 194 (48.5%) respondents answered they always buy their pet treats, 193 (48.3%) of
the respondents answered sometimes and 13 (3.3%) of the respondents answered never.

total of 212 (53%) respondents answered they always celebrate their pet’s birthday, 156 (39%)
of the respondents answered sometimes and 32(8%) of the respondents answered never.

respondents answered always and 35(8.8%) of the respondents answered never.

possible when the ingredients that were used in the cake are safe and healthy for the dog.

people from the 18 to 28 yrs. old age bracket. Including their employment status whether they are
students, employed, unemployed, or self-employed.

They want to make sure that the value they pay for will not go to waste. Customers want assurance that
the product offered to them is genuine and serves the quality they paid for.

COMPETITORS

 Furbaby Cakes – they offer cakes and pet treats that are catered to dogs.
 Whole Pet Kitchen and Pet stuff – they offer cakes and pet treats, can be custom but the
prices are quite expensive.
 Shoppe or other Online businesses that cater towards pet cakes as well – the pet cakes
they offer are often given bad reviews because of how misleading the ads are. There are
other online shops that are true to their words and some through recommendations.

GAPS that COMPETITORS have not fulfilled

 A product that is edible for both human and pets’ consumption.


 The satisfaction of curiosity from the customer whether the pupcakes they offer is safe by trying
it themselves.
 The variety of ingredients they choose are specified only for pets.
 The product satisfies the need of the customer, and has fair prices in accordance to the quality.

These are the factors we’ve considered upon creating our product banana pupcakes. The idea of
presenting a product that satisfies all these factors are somehow what can create the possibility of
competition in the market. It is simple yet affordable, just the right price, it satisfies the curiosity of
the buyer what the actual product tastes before giving it to their furbabies and the variety of
ingredients blended together to offer something unique that caters to both parties.

Marketing Programs

In order for us to get media exposure, Banana Pupcakes will be cooperating with other
marketing programs to create commercials with “dog affairs” as the main theme, and at the
same time advertise our product which creates an opportunity for us to sponsor them.
Through sponsorship we are creating brand awareness more people will develop an
interested on what we have to offer in the market. It gives people an idea of what their
perception of our business is, customers will form positive opinions on the business with the
help of high-profile events, as it connects the business with being reputable and reliable an
impression that will likely stick with them. Successful sponsoring can bring in likeminded
individuals’ investors, entrepreneurs, and business partners to collaborate and share
resources with us. As we get more exposure, the community that supports our products
grows as well. The success of the business highly depends on the feedback it gets from its
consumers, as long as we keep on listening to their concerns, we are more than capable of
providing our customers the products that lives up to their expectations.
