RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL
“Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya”
1. INTRODUCTION
Residential schools or boarding schools are the most earliest known form of education in india, known
popularly as ‘Gurukul’. The system of gurukul was very different from other system of teaching or learning
of any kind of education or technique. Now a days, its value or scope rises more and more. Because, of the
discipline among the management and teaching staff, and the methodology of education which varies
from other education patterns.
The aim of residential schools is to provide students the opportunity to achieve academic excellence
and develop their creative, social, emotional, intellectual and physical growth. Thus, this education system
offers students discipline and physical environment comparable to their homes along with high academic
standing.
They are run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, Noida, an autonomous organization under the
Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education. JNVs are fully residential and co-
educational schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The specality of this
residential school compared to other similar organizations is the management of the whole system as
residential. To create an environment of itself and its discipline.

1. INTRODUCTION
The face of the modern work place has changed over the years. This has mainly been due to
economic, social and technological changes in the business world. The increasing use of ICT (Information
and Communications Technology) and related technology has led to the emergence of a more innovative
workplace. With changes in the way people work, think and use technology, new work place models have
arisen. Team work and collaboration are now of increasing importance, leading to changes in the
definition, size, functionality and social significance of work spaces.
2. AIM
Creating a collaborative environment between industry and academia through joint research project
of incubation centre and to achieve an enhanced version of business spaces and R&D spaces for the
users.
3. OBJECTIVES
• To understand the relationship between innovation and the physical work environment.
• To establish what architectural elements aid in creating a physical work environment that
supports innovation.
• To assess how emerging physical workplace environments in campus have responded to the
support of innovation and creativity in their design.
• The types of work places that support innovation range from those in corporate organizations to
co-working spaces to innovation campuses and many others.
• This study will focus on co-working spaces in India, while acknowledging that there are many
types of workplaces that support innovation. Co-working spaces are a new development in India
and are a breeding ground for new businesses bringing together bloggers, "techies", designers,
entrepreneurs, journalists and developers to name a few.
• The study will investigate the strengths and weaknesses of these physical workplace
environments to gain knowledge as to how and whether they support innovation in their design.
