Things needed:
1. Volleyball: A regulation beach volleyball is required, which is slightly larger and softer than indoor volleyballs.
Official beach volleyball specifications include a circumference of 66-68 cm and a weight of 260-280 grams.
2. Beach Volleyball Court: You will need access to a beach volleyball court, which consists of a sand surface that
measures 16 meters long and 8 meters wide. The court is divided into two equal halves by a net.
3. Net: A beach volleyball net is necessary to separate the two sides of the court. The net should be 8.5 meters long
and 1 meter wide. It is positioned at a height of 2.43 meters for men's play and 2.24 meters for women's play.
4. Boundary Lines: The court boundaries should be clearly marked with lines. The lines define the outer edges of the
court and indicate whether a ball is in or out of bounds.
5. Clothing: Comfortable and appropriate athletic clothing is essential for beach volleyball. Players typically wear
swimwear, tank tops, or t-shirts along with shorts or beach volleyball-specific attire. It is important to wear
clothing that allows for easy movement and is suitable for beach conditions.
6. Footwear: Players usually play barefoot in beach volleyball, as the sand surface provides sufficient grip and
reduces the risk of slipping. However, some players may choose to wear lightweight beach volleyball sandals or
socks for added protection.
7. Sunglasses and Sunscreen: Since beach volleyball is played outdoors, it is important to protect yourself from the
sun. Wearing sunglasses with UV protection and applying sunscreen on exposed skin is highly recommended to
prevent sunburn and minimize eye strain.
8. Water and Hydration: Staying hydrated is crucial during beach volleyball matches, especially in hot weather. It is
essential to have water or other hydrating beverages available to replenish fluids throughout the game.
9. Towels and Beach Accessories: Having towels nearby is useful for wiping off sand and sweat between plays or
during breaks. Additionally, beach accessories like umbrellas, chairs, and shade structures can provide comfort
and relief during extended periods of rest.
10. First Aid Kit: It is wise to have a basic first aid kit readily available in case of minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes, or
sprains. The kit should include items like band-aids, antiseptic ointment, adhesive tape, and ice packs.

Beach volleyball has gained significant popularity worldwide due to its

exciting gameplay, accessibility, and the visually appealing setting it
